I love this guy...and boy does he have a unique perspective on things. He's black, he's police officer, and his own son killed a police officer. Link to that story provided in the story I linked.

quote:

Every societal failure, we put it off on the cops to solve...Policing was never meant to solve all those problems.

quote:

He also said that if he were confronted with the same perceived problems that have prompted demonstrations across the country, “I probably wouldn’t protest or complain. I’d get involved and do something about it, by becoming part of the solution." Brown later leveled a direct challenge to demonstrators: “We’re hiring. Get off that protest line and put an application in.”

Who in their right mind wants to be a police officer these days? Grossly underpaid for risking their lives, for what? Civil peace?

Just watched full interview. He's amazing.

Everyone in America should have to watch it after all he's been through, this week and his whole life. What a leader.

Ehh, I understand the sentiment, but there are jobs in this country with worse pay and a markedly higher fatality rate than police officers.

Why in the hell has he received death threats? Is it because he is black and a police chief? Theses BLM clowns can care less about " their" people.

This is a nice touch.

it is a huge problem that white guys are policing black neighborhoods? Is it just a PC thing that if you only put black cops in black areas, somebody would say something?

Well that is a bit racists, so I am sure someone would have a problem.

This guy needs to spread his thoughts through America. Really comes across in a genuine way and he's got some real life experiences to back up his words.

They can't because the applications ask you to identify your gender which causes extreme emotional distress.

Did he say that in Colonel Jessup's voice from A Few Good Men? "Pick up a weapon and stand a post!"

Don't mean to twist the subject, and I agree with your thoughts that this guy is a leader and if held a national position I believe he would do very well. However, replace him with a white police chief with the same words, and I wonder does it have the same effect? If I'm being honest, I think I would almost expect any police cheif to say these sentiments, but for whatever reason, his thoughts, speech, tone, and directness come across highly effective.

Any chance Chief Brown would be interested in running as VP on a Presidential ticket?
