Based on what he said, I sincerely believe that's what his brother would have wanted.

It is rare to see such a genuine display of faith.

frick all that shite. If I were to hug her, I would have grabbed a pen and shanked her arse to death. No religion is strong enough for me to forgive anyone for doing what she did to my brother.

How can Texas be considered a law and order state if violent crimes only require 30% of time served?

10 years is a joke of a sentence here

Cardell Hayes, who killed Will Smith here in Nola after there was actually some physical confrontation during a car wreck, got convicted of manslaughter and a 25 year sentence

This woman walks in to a mans house and shoots him with ZERO confrontation and gets 10 years

Where is the justice there? Being a little blonde woman has its advantages

I see people are still getting confused about murder in Texas, now to the point of comparing the legal systems of 2 different states.

Two completely different scenarios, not even comparable.

Correct. This woman should do at least double the time

My thinking is the sentence was low because it may deter the defense from trying to file a motion for for Appeal. If a motion for appeal was granted and she were to get convicted of manslaughter her sentence could be lower.

I’m not sure what’s funny

Walking into a mans home and killing them is a lot worse to me than killing a man after a hit and run situation and some sort of physical conflict

You clearly are and think it should be a bigger sentence because of the word murder without realizing what that means in the penal code of Texas.

Your example is in no way accidental. It was a man enraged enough to kill someone. A person with that type of temper deserves 25 years.

This chick got 10 because she is an irresponsible complete moron, not because she was a vicious lady with anger issues causing her to kill someone.

Murder in Texas encompasses a lot more than other states hence the 5-99 year sentence it comes with.

Wrong.

And manslaughter in Louisiana is up to 40 years

I understand fully the difference in murder in texas and Louisiana. I have spoken to it on countless occasions in this thread

Regardless of the wordplay of manslaughter or murder in the respective states, Guyer deserves more time in prison

Hayes actually had a physical confrontation, after being the one initially hit in his vehicle

He far more had a case for using a weapon than Guyer ever did

And if you are ignorant enough to walk into another humans apartment, kill them, and then not render aid, yes, that is worse. Far worse
