What gets me is still how more than one LEO testified (which was later ruled inadmissible), that they did not think she was guilty of ANY crime. Basically, LOL shite happens. Guy was in the wrong place at the wrong time, according to them.

Blue Wall
Cops are never wrong. Even when they shoot you while you're sitting on your couch eating ice cream.

This is a load of bullshite. Just because Dallas PD is a shite department does not mean this is a true blanket statement.

What else is there to add that hasn't already been said?
Dallas PD officer murders an innocent man. Fellow officers think she did nothing wrong. Everyone else thinks she did something wrong. We all wait for the verdict.

This is unfortunately routine

You don't really think the Blue Wall is limited to Dallas do you?

I do find the fellow officer statements to be odd. Even Guyger admitted to doing something she shouldn't have but I suppose her end goal at this point is to serve as little time as possible.
Only thing in my head is if an officer opens my door and demands hands, I'm complying and dealing with the aftermath alive. How did Jean know the officer didn't have a lawful reason for being at his door?
That's not a great defense, but one the defense could have used. . . if they didn't already. I haven't been keeping up too much.

She needs to be convicted of murder.

The big problem with this line of logic is we only "know" that she shouted commands and that he didn't comply because she said that's what happened.

The entire encounter took only seconds from the time he’s chilling on his couch in front of the TV eating ice cream until he’s shot.
It takes longer than that for someone to process why some chick is standing in his doorway yelling at him. No way should someone ever be killed in that situation.
Guyger made a number of mistakes, but Botham Jean didn’t do a single thing that warranted ending the encounter dead.

A. This does not excuse Guyger because did not have a lawful reason to be at his door.
B. He didn’t have time to comply, if she even did give the commands she claims to have.
If I was on the jury, I’d convict of voluntary manslaughter. The door was unlocked and she heard someone and still didn’t think to check if it was indeed her apartment before barging in guns blazing?

He did nothing wrong and was just minding his own business. But in her mind someone was in her apartment and didn’t respond like she expected.

She’d just served a 12 hour shift, mistakenly parked on the wrong level of the attached parking garage, did not use the stairs nor elevator, and walked down the identical hallway to what she thought was her apartment. Unless she’s lying (which you have to then believe that she - a trained officer - decided to murder him in the most idiotic way possible) then it is an accident. A horrible horrible accident.
Does our society send people to prison for accidents? Would we convict someone of murder who accidentally turned the wrong way down a one way street and hit a kid on his bicycle? Would we convict a doctor who mistakenly gave someone the wrong medication that caused them to die?
In my mind there’s only one question for the jury: did she intend to do anything to him? Personally, after watching much of the testimony, I don’t believe she did… I couldn’t send someone to prison for an accident.
Maybe that’s just me.

I could send her to prison for manslaughter. She took a life. Of that there is no doubt. A price has to be paid.

Yes, we call it criminal negligence
If you run over a kid because you weren’t paying attention and were sexting someone, you would go to prison

Well, why didn't the trained officer de-escalate the situation like she is trained to do? If she truly believed he was in her apartment wrongly, why wouldn't she back up, call for back up and wait the 2 minutes it takes to get to her place from the station.
Also, why didn't the trained officer administer cpr?
Why didn't the trained officer take in all the visual and audio clues in around her?
Why didn't the trained officer administer first aid, especially when it was shown she had plenty of first aid supplies on hand?
I mean, I could keep going, but hopefully you get the point.
Also, she was on desk duty, not out there busting up drug rings. She also testified that she had planned to go home, change, and go to the gym, so i guess she wasn't too tired.
Lastly, I do not have a hard time believing the officer who was fricking a married man with kids in secret, who deleted her text with him, scrubbed her social media account, and not take a tox screen for over 24 hours would lie. Do you?

She wasn't there lawfully. It wasn't her apartment. She may have made a mistake, but she was technically trespassing. Unless you believe officers of the law can violate the 4th amendment.

People like you make me lose hope that there will ever be real accountability towards negligent officers who shouldn't have been officers in the first place.
