No shite.
In The Woodlands, it's nothing but a bunch of fat Lance Armstrong wannabe's riding around looking like over stuffed sausages!

This reminded me of when Top Gear did a cyclist advert.

Nothing makes me see red like being stuck behind a group of them on Research Forest or College Park.

For me, it's Terramont and Branch Crossing!

Its illegal to ride on interstate, yes. But, river road is the only option for me sometimes as there is no sidewalk. I don't like it, but there is nothing I can do for about a 5 mile stretch.

I have a question. What if cyclists are riding on an interstate (or any road I guess) and cause an accident? Certainly not every accident with them is the fault of a vehicle driver as most claim. So, if these cyclists are not insured, and they cause an accident that causes damage and/or injury, what happens then?

They call Jim Adler, the Texas hammer!

Guy died in SW Missouri a couple of weeks ago when he was riding at night on the interstate. Fed-Ex Truck ran his arse over!

LoL at people who think just because they signal it gives them the right to disregard the flow of traffic and just jump over..

The ONLY OPTION in the whole wide world? I don't understand. Doesn't Baton Rouge have a velodrome open from sunrise to sunset everyday? I'll never understand how you morons think that ride is worth risking your life over.

Yeah, if you look over your shoulder or at your mirrors when driving, what makes a person think you don't have to look on a bike? That's just dumb.
Posted on 7/29/19 at 10:54 am to LegendInMyMind
You'd have to be a fricking idiot to ride a bike on the interstate.

This. I ride my bike everyday to the gym (its only a few miles so it not like its great feat or anything). I live in the city and there are 2 main 4 lane roads that I have to cross, the rest is quiet residential grid pattern blocks. Yet I see cyclists going the same place I go only to use the main thoroughfares "because they have just as much right as a car does." And while I agree with that...WHY would you choose to ride on the 4 lane when its a zillion times safer to ride one block off along a residential street?? A Lot of cyclists feel entitled and they do that just to prove a point and are looking for a reason to get angry with everyday drivers.

I don't understand why they think this is ok? Most highways have a minimum speed to maintain.

Ditto.

I don't understand why so many of them had to trade their common sense for the bike. Even though they may have the right, it doesn't excuse them from using common sense and respecting practical safety when they are on the road. Is a safer ride any less beneficial to you than a dangerous one undertaken just to prove a point?
