Can you imagine getting on a cruise ship after seeing the whole diamond princess fiasco in Japan?
People are nuts

The Zaandam began its South American voyage from Buenos Aires, Argentina, on March 7 and was originally scheduled to end the sailing in San Antonio, Chile, March 21.

The ship was originally scheduled to arrive at Port Everglades on April 7 at the end of a 31-day cruise that originated in Buenos Aires, Argentina on March 7, and made stops along the coast of South America. Holland America has confirmed that 411 passengers were booked on the 31-day cruise. The remaining passengers were booked on shorter segments, including a 14 day cruise that was scheduled to end in San Antonio, Chile. Since the cruise was terminated before arriving at San Antonio, all those passengers remain on the ship. After arriving at Port Everglades on April 7, the ship was scheduled to go into dry dock for two weeks, then return to Port Everglades to leave for Canada on the first leg of its repositioning cruise on April 21.

"Well I can't get a refund so I'm going anyway, virus be damned."
That about sums it up.

How stupid of a life decision to decide to get on a nasty boat knowing this shite was going on.

Do they charge you for the extra days? Seems like a free extended vacation. I bet the vacation sex has probably waned off by now though.

let the american citizens off. Force quarantine for 2 weeks in a hotel. Tell the foreigners bon voyage.

Sink it. If you have the lung capacity to swim to shore, you don't have coronavirus.

That’s actually smart.

Good idea, but these people are not going to sit in a hotel room for 14 days after being stuck on a ship for 3 weeks.
Quarantine them on Gitmo or a military base which can be locked down. Treat them as well as possible, they are not criminals, but keep them away from everyone.

Non swimmers can’t afford 30 day cruises

I've never understood this small minded mentality. Yes, you've already spent the money. Are you really going to enjoy yourself and feel safe if you actually called and tried to get a refund? IF you tried to get a refund then that means you really don't want to go...so why go? Those are sunk costs.
