Traveling by yourself can be weird at first but honestly it can be one of the best things you can do. Honestly I've gotten used to traveling by myself and now it's weird to travel with someone else.

Just something about you being in complete control, getting to do what you want, not having to coordinate with someone else, being able to change plans last minute, it's very liberating. The idea that I could be on vacation and decide I'm just going to relax by the pool that day or the idea that maybe I'll extend my vacation, just stuff you can't do when you're with other people.

Yes it makes absolutely no sense that a guy, who lives an hour away from Port Canaveral, and gets an employee discount for a cruise, would want to get away from a few days on a cruise.

Is there anyone that you have seen lately around town that has caught your eye and you would like them to join you on a cruise intended for children? If so, we can help you write a Missed Connections post on CraigsList.

I’ve never been on a cruise and with that said, is going alone that appealing? I don’t know what all they offer but I never considered people go alone.

ETA: see someone already asked

Wow this is just sick. I will not dignify this with a response.

How is it any different than going to a restaurant alone? Or going to the beach by yourself? Or going to a movie by yourself? Do you consider those things weird?

I have talked to people who have come to Disney by themselves. I know coworkers who have gone to theme parks by themselves. As crazy as it sounds solo traveling isn't that uncommon.

Why should I have to suffer and not be able to travel just because I don't always have someone to go with?

People like you are why so many single people still face prejudice and discrimination.

Oh good lord please don't hijack this thread. Yes I work at Disney part time. I've lived in Orlando for 12 years. Life in Orlando as a single male is about the same as it would be in any major city. At times it's wonderful. At other times it's incredibly lonely. It has its positives and negatives.

Is it NYC or Paris? No. But it's better than Louisiana that's for sure.

I've run into a lot of people in Orlando (men and women) who have had trouble dating here. The problem here is that it's a very transient population so a lot of people are either looking for just a hook up or could end up moving away. Hook up culture is very big here and a lot of people here don't want to commit to anything serious. Plus Orlando has a significant gay/lesbian population which makes dating for us heterosexuals harder.

Never mind a higher than average population of older people as well as a higher than average population of Hispanics that pretty much stick to themselves in terms of dating.

Orlando has a lot of good things going for it, the local dating scene isn't one of them.

I wonder if this is to deter pedos.

Pedos don't have to go on a cruise to get their fix.

Never mind if this is the case it would be discriminatory. Change it to "we don't want black people or Catholic people because they could be pedos", can you imagine what would happen then?

Married people are just as likely to be pedos as single people. Sadly though I could easily see you being right.

I had never even heard of it before the attack. I did have a coworker at the time though who's son had just left Pulse an hour before the attack. He fell asleep when he got home and didn't wake up until 11 a.m. the next day. Needless to say she was falling apart that morning trying to call him.

I live in the Orlando area but the area I live in is a good 20 miles away from downtown Orlando.

I'm going on a cruise out of New Orleans in April. I was hoping prices would get cheaper, but the ship is almost full. I couldn't even get an upgraded cabin because none were available. I don't believe everyone is canceling.

With Disney Cruise Line I just know I'm seeing more employee rates than I've ever seen before. Usually you don't see more than 5 or 6 cruises available and right now 52 cruises are available. That tells me a significant amount of people are cancelling. That's why I'm trying to take advantage of it.

I thought couples without kids who went to Disney were weird. A single dude trying to go on a Disney cruise by himself is something else.
