The first 2 parts had me going but by part 3 I was getting suspicious. Part 4 convinced me. No way any of that was real. Good story though.

Me either.

The other thing that made me skeptical was that after the first two parts, I looked the area up on google maps. There are a couple of houses down that road right past where they stopped at the railroad trestle. They seem to be reasonably well-maintained and one has a big mowed yard/field.

It's been awhile since I've been back there but there have been houses past the tracks for a long time. One of my best friends growing up lived right before the tracks. We used to go walk down those things all the time as kids.

Yeah, I noticed that too.

It was a dedicated, time invested story though, props to the authors.

I love occult shite like that

This thread was before the upvote/downvote feature existed. I have no clue what my last post in this thread even means and it's received 2 upvotes

Linking in the other reddit alters was a nice touch. Gave the story some credibility at first. They didn't have to kill the Rotty though.

The satanist rumor has been going around forever. None of it is true. It was always hilarious taking people back there to scare them though. Baton Rouge is so boring.

I ended up here from the OT thread about abandoned buildings that led me to Reddit then back to here.

What a wild ride and a fast way to make 2 hours go by

I know right, I posted it after reading the first page then I read all that ridiculous crap through til the end before realizing how insanely fake it all was

eta saw your response in other thread and no I saw Blair Witch Project when I was 10 and it ruined the woods for me. Im not screwing around with any occult shite, if I saw any cloaked dudes or a field covered in pentagrams Id be high tailing it!

I just remember as a teenager we went back to the house that had some type of concrete decor on each side of the driveway with some type of emblem maybe a star or cross or something. Long driveway that drove up around midnight and did donuts in the front yard next to the house then hauled arse. That’s all I got.

There's always a dog in these type of stories.

Caving? We brought my friend's dog.

Hiking some good forsaken trail?

Brought a toy poodle.

Scuba diving a wreck?

Thor, my faithful German Shepard who had once fended off a white fish...
