What you want is Creed Vetiver or Creed Green Irish Tweed.

Go to micro perfumes or another like site that sells samplers. If it matches your body chemistry then you can comfortably spend $180-$200 or whatever the price

Been seeing a cologne a lot lately called Gravite and would like to smell it before purchasing. I've been wearing Sauvage for the last few years and just looking for something new. Had a bottle of Versace Eros and it busted in a carry on bag in DFW airport, ended up having to check that bag cause it was so strong smelling.

this stuff worth the price?

Fairly priced on Costco ($320ish/100mL). I have a bottle from 2017. I’ll replace it when I’m out.

I wear about a half dozen scents regularly.

It’s an excellent every day scent, but it feels “special.” I get random people stop me and comment on it when I wear it with moderate regularity. The scent is certainly unique- a somewhat Smokey pineapple in a very pleasant way. It’s pricey. But a bottle is a multi-year purchase even with daily wear.

Others on my shelf:
Bleu de Chanel. When you walk in to a Dillards and go to the cologne counter and think “man. That’s a nice smell” about 80% of it seems to be that one. It’s just so pleasant and never out of place.

Creed Green Irish Tweed
I need a bottle of this. I have had samples and used it sparingly. Much more “formal” in its smell. Heavy on the vetiver. Smells like you rolled around in a fresh cut grass, again in a very positive way. I could see it not being for everyone. But it’s damn wonderful.

Creed Virgin Island Water- sort of the opposite of Green Irish Tweed. It’s coconut and lime. It’s unisex, and my wife wears it as often as I do. Very summer. Very light. Not bad for anything you’d see an a-hole wear a linen or seersucker suit to (yes, I’m sometimes one of them), but a very “light” and “everyday” type of scent. When Kramer had the idea to make a cologne that smelled like the beach, he may have made this one by mistake (but again, like a pleasant day at a cabana in the Islands where they walk your margaritas and pina coladas to you all day long. Not like a sweaty Jersey Shore Rum Ham type of day)

Ralph Lauren Blue is the scent that more or less got me into cologne. It’s not expensive compared to the others. Heavy cucumber and orange/citrusy vibes. While it could be considered a competitor to Chanel’s blue scent, I just think of them as different. Chanel is warm/woody with a very deep blueberry smell. This is, again, light and refreshing. Somehow, it holds another “never out of season. Never out of context” type of spot. Even someone who likes expensive stuff would find a hard time complaining much about it (Ralph Lauren is not really known for phenomenal cologne, though they pump out quite a bit of it. Their original polo (the green one) is hard to stomach. Tobacco/leather. I wish I could pull it off, but it doesn’t agree with me at all. It feels dated. It’s almost offensive. Though when I meet a 55+ year old wearing it, my first thought it, “well, yeah. That’s what someone who worked indoors when you could smoke indoors would wear.” I’ve got a tiny bottle. Never really touch it)

Newest addition:
Guerlain Bosca vanilla forte. Another unisex scent. First scent is a strong yet very natural vanilla (obviously) that penetrates the air around you. In terms of intensity, I find it the most notable from 6ft away on this list, with Aventus being 2nd, Chanel Bleu 3rd, and everything else you need to almost hug someone for them to smell it. But it’s not just this sweet, wonderful vanilla, there’s this very warm, woody undertone that really balances it out. I’ve never smelled anything like it before. They make several fine scents. They have several floral ones for women that are lovely. I didn’t care for any of the other men’s scents (or unisex as something that a guy could/would wear)

Option two is to get some cologne with pheromones. Anyone got the scoop on that?

Pheromones are a very good buzzword to throw into a marketing campaign to get people to buy a product. You’re probably fine if you bathe regularly, smell nice, and aren’t extremely unattractive.

I actually thought about responding to the pheromone bit with “don’t be gay.”

Then I thought about responding to you with a “well I enjoy PIIHB as much as the next guy” quip.

But finally I’ll just go with something about your mom/wife/girlfriend/etc.

I haven't worn any scent besides jet exhaust and freedom for a decade. Seems to work for me.

I don't even know where to begin with a cologne, because the counters at department stores are so overpowered with 100 different scents, it makes it tough.

I usually wait for some to be gifted to me, which hasn't happened it a while, maybe this Christmas.
