Small casual wedding sure why not

Exactly what the wife and I did. We got married on her dad's property up in the country in central La. by a JP with just immediate family and some close friends around.

We wound up boiling 4 sacks of crawfish, had ice chests of beer, Cajun music over the sound system and had a great time.

Exactly how I pictured the attire for a wedding that serves crawfish

for something like what you describe, I think it is fine. I wouldn't go that route if anyone is dressed formally, though.

I’m not trying to be rude but it’s courtesy to say things like it was the best wedding a person has been to.

Crawfish in Baton Rouge or New Orleans will never be the best wedding a person has been to. Crawfish in Lebeau Louisiana, maybe.

With all that being said, as long as you had a good time and you could tell others did to, then that’s all that matters.

The best wedding is the one I don’t have to attend,

For some manufactured Nashville pop-crap that Florida-Georgia line or Jason Aldean would sing. Louisiana folk would eat that spoon-fed shite up too.

Shorts were cargo, no doubt.

I picture this wedding happening barefoot on PCB with their children from their respective previous marriages serving as best man and maid of honor.

Either that or in one of their parents backyards and the entire wedding party wearing the same colored converses

First dance to Forever by Chris Brown, complete with the dance moves from The Office except terribly, awfully executed.

Wedding portraits were sassy family pics in black and white with khaki shorts and long sleeve white tops.

Hell I was barefoot on the beach at my own casual wedding.

But I still wore an appropriate wedding dress and he wore a suit.

And we didn’t serve food that required you to eat it with your hands.

Bet you that guy’s wedding colors were purple and gold

The preacher doing the wedding probably wore a Columbia fishing shirt

River boat is definitely classier than a cruise ship

And beach weddings can be extremely trashy, but if you do it right then they can be very beautiful as well and since y'all wore actual proper formal wedding attire I assume your wedding was done tastefully and classy

Whatever makes you happy. If you wanna have crawfish, corn, potatoes, and you gotta thrown in some sausage in there too, more power to you. Throw in a some Nutella for dessert, straight out the jar, and The Dan Band for entertainment, you got yourself a hell of a wedding.
