I'm not on FB, but I've seen that linked to The Advertiser website. Haven't seen it in a long while, but it has been a pretty good source of info in the past.

Cool, if true. But a lot of restaurants are hurting right now.

I Had to learn the hard way about the LC coyote blues fish tacos. I was sick for two weeks and spent 3 days in hospital. I won't eat tilapia ever again.

I was born in the port city. Raised on trejos and Nicky’s. Lived in LC for years and think el tapatio and coyote blues were awful.

There's one here in Oxford that was just built. It's part of the same franchise that closed all of its LA restaurants. Odd.

That PF Chang to Laffy rumor has been afloat for many years.
I am surprised that Laffy doesn't have a PF Changs.

Yea I tried the one in BR several times, always over priced and never impressed with the food.
The one in BR was off for whatever reason. The one in Lafayette was basically my favorite Mexican-ish restaurant for years.

Steak fajitas I had at El Tap were delicious.

To each their own I suppose.

If Lake Charles is experiencing such a boom, then why are restaurants like Coyote Blues and Newk's closing?

I ate one time at Coyote Blues.. Not very good, way overpriced. Better food at lil mom and pop Mexican place called El Tapitias

Newk's had trouble staffing it and Coyote Blues just sucked.

I just assumed whomever owned Coyote Blues didn't know how to manage their money.

Idk, but Lafayette has had a metric frick ton of restaurants open up along Ambassador Caffery since Coyote Blues opened. Shutting the doors seemed to be a geographic decision there. You had to drive past tons of new places to get to CB. Not sure where the restaurant is in LC, but that could explain it.

What is this place, and where is it? I have never heard of it.

I knew that place wouldn't survive when it opened up in Baton Rouge.. For two reasons.. The color scheme and nothing about it says "Mexican restaurant.
And you spelled restaurant wrong.
