My internet has been out since midday yesterday, coincidentally it went out at the same time Cox workers were in the building. Tried resetting the modem yesterday and today, no effect. Call Cox Support and they have no clue what the issue is. They say the earliest they can get a technician out is Thursday. I use firestick for my TV so im now shite out of luck for watching the Bama-Oklahoma game.
What the frick is going on where it takes 5 days to get a technician out to fix a problem?

I have had 0 issues with cox in 10 years.
Take that back. Only issue is every 2 years i have to call and do the same cancellation song and dance to get back to $120 cable/internet bundle.

Holiday weekend is a damn difficult time to get someone to come out for something like that. I dealt the same type of thing with xfinity a while back, so don’t feel like Cox is the only one that is difficult to deal with.

What kind of building? Go cut the Cox line so the whole thing is out. That’ll speed up the response time.

Holiday weekend extends to Thursday? I don't use cable, everything goes through my internet so i consider it to be decidedly fricked that they cant get a single person to come out and troubleshoot for 5 days. Even the tech support employee said she'd never heard of that kind of wait time. Are they going to remove a week's worth of charges off my bill? Doubt it.

She was just saying what you wanted to hear.

Actually they likely will if you ask.

Cox is still a million times better than shitty CenturyLink
At least COX didn't have a nationwide outage.

If true, you’re the luckiest man in America.

Other than price I have no complaints. Their service has been rock solid for me for 15 years. I think $95 is a bit steep for internet though.

It's a P.I.C.N.I.C. (Problem in chair not in computer)
There is not much you can do..Tell them you want your bill prorated for the time you were out of internet..
I have ATT and have had minor issues..nothing more than a few hours over 5 years.

Ha. Not likely. In fact, they’ll try to charge him a $75 service fee for fixing the issue. Guarantee it.

I switched to Direct TV in August because Cox kept going up. I was paying $315 for Cable, internet and a landline, now I am paying $150.
I'd rather have Cox, but the reasons are not worth what I was paying.
There was a period where I had trouble with Cox, but any service you use isn't going to be perfect..
If anyone looks into Direct TV, don't believe them if they tell you weather will unlikely affect your connection. If a thunderstorm comes through, it is going out. That is one of the first things I asked about and the guy told me some bullshite about how when AT&T bought them, they launched another satellite to help with connection and that there is a 99% connection rate... Just know that there will be times it will go out for a little while.

I'm paying for 150 Mbps and getting 180 - 200. No downtime. Works great for me. Get a new modem.
