I am fine with the 17 Year Old taking a plea to serve 15 years (with no Parole) in Angola.

If you look a the picture, they are in the sporting goods section. Walmart sells a marine flares. They probably released a smoke flare which triggered the sprinklers.
And if that's the case -- there goes your arson charge -- because there was no intent to start a fire. You have reckless endangerment or criminal mischief, and property damage and improper discharge of a dangerous device -- but no arson.

This isn't a prank. They set fire to an occupied business. I'm not saying they were bad parents but you are really going against the law of averages if they had parents who watched over what they were doing.

I do agree with you when thinking about it, this is a bit too much to qualify as merely a stupid arse prank like leaving a turd in the urinal. Odds of a strong father figure are probably around zero.
When my kids were younger fear of an arse whooping kept them in line.
As they got older fear of my disappointment from straying from the values I taught them kept them in line.

I am hearing the same St. Tammany DA’s office that quietly dismissed charges against Richard Suarez (Parking Lot Puncher of Elderly Man in Viral Video in Christmas 2021) is now potentially going to make the Wal Mart Fire Charges go away because of possible legacy connections of one defendant in particular.
As a reminder. Elected Officials can pick and choose who they want to prosecute.
I am hearing the same St. Tammany DA’s office that quietly dismissed charges against Richard Suarez (Parking Lot Puncher of Elderly Man in Viral Video in Christmas 2021) is now potentially going to make the Wal Mart Fire Charges go away because of possible legacy connections of one defendant in particular.
As a reminder. Elected Officials can pick and choose who they want to prosecute.
