I read the thread the day it came out and bashed it...I've been keeping my own data for months

Deaths as well as cases are increasing at a terrible rate in Texas,
Cases, yes. Deaths, absolutely not. 8 weeks ago, deaths per 100000 people was 6. 6 weeks ago it was 8. Today, its 9 deaths per 100000 people. By comparison, NJ and NY are still 171 and 166 respectively.
Where is this terrible increase in TX's death rate?
deaths by state
I truly dont understand why the hyperbole with the death rate from people.
And I'm only speaking of TX, fwiw.

That's a misuse or misunderstanding of the facts. Infections and deaths are not uniform across the US, so the "nationwide death number" is not informative. Deaths as well as cases are increasing at a terrible rate in Texas, Florida, and Arizona (Houston and Miami are particularly terrible).
It's a common fallacy, known as Simpson's Paradox, to "pool" all data which produces a misleading conclusion. If you make the mistake of looking at it as if the whole US is always going in the same direction, you miss the problem.
It's well explained here:
Nah. When literally everyone involved is picking and choosing which data they are going to present for whichever argument they are trying to make, it is all fair game.
When "expert" doctors can't even keep their stats straight from day to day and routinely use cumulative numbers to prop up their opinions, and at times just make up numbers that have no basis in what health departments are reporting, the numbers don't matter at all.
Then, add in a media that refuses to call such "experts" on their bullshite, it just gets old and tiring.

just want the facts to be out there. according to @mbeckett on Twitter and the Simpsons paradox theory we should be hurting in 7-8 weeks
Wish casting...

I know dude.. but I think that better than shutting it all down.
think we have to open schools at any costs. families can't do it. trump is big time right there

The bashing on AZ, FL, and TX have been pretty funny.
NY is smaller than Texas and Florida and has 5x the deaths as of last week of them combined.

Guidelines they put in place are solid. .. I have no issue with my daughter going back to school.

I watch this shite because I live here

That is a complete misuse of Simpson’s Paradox.
Comparing national rates/deaths to national rates/deaths over a four month period doesn’t come close to Simpson’s Paradox.
