Fair enough. I don’t think many are really on the fence these days anyway. People that don’t want it aren’t likely to change their minds.

True
But it's funny how both sides are trying so hard to convince

Totally agree. And I think those who don't want it shouldn't take it. Totally your decision.

What is stupid is them trying to use fake news to justify their decision to make themselves feel better. You have to be insecure about your decision if you constantly search for shite to tell everyone why you shouldn't take it. And run to TD to start a thread on why the vaccine is bad.

I'm not on a pro-vax side. Your body your choice. I took it and I know others who didn't and I'm fine that they didn't. I just enjoyed how much of an idiot that guy and found this thread comical. He literally posted an article that disproved the point he was trying to make. It was almost like he was wanting to showoff how big of a retard he is and how poor his reading comprehension skills are

Um, the article says the vaccine actually protects against the variant with an efficacy of 94.6%

Um, that has ZERO to do with what I asked.

He stated that mRNA has been around for decades and is perfectly safe. I asked for proof via long term studies. He provided zip.

Still, while the impact on those vaccinated in regards to the variant seems minimal, political tyrants will probably try to use this to go back into lockdowns.

As to the OP , I have no comment.

Posts like this show how little people choose to educate themselves on the vaccine. I too had concerns initially, but after reading on the science, my concerns vanished- funny how that happens.

That would be me. Until I know more about the effects of mRNA, I will pass. I just don’t see it as necessary for a virus that has had minimal effects (I had Covid) as far as I can tell.

For those stating that I don’t know the long term effects of Covid, that is true.

However, I didn’t choose to get Covid so the long term effect is a moot point. Additionally, I had Covid before the vaccine was available to me, so again, a moot point. At this point, concerning the vaccine, I just don’t see the need to get it without knowing more in terms of long term issues.

If someone else chooses to get a vaccine, cool. But (at least at this time) I will pass.

You must not be familiar with Strannix. He's definitely retarded.

I find that most of the people who try to logically explain why they don’t want it should just stop trying to justify it and leave it at “I don’t want it.”

However, your position seems reasonable.

The last time the govt imposed lockdowns for a similar scenario was when? 1918? Why did it take the gov over 100 years to impose new lockdowns?

That's not good enough for some people....they want to know "WHY???" I just say...."because I dont want it" or I say, "I havent made up my mind" and they want to know "WHY???"

Some people are resentful towards the people that choose not to get the vaccine because they were forced to get it....

All you have to do is read the article, and the thread title falls apart:

quote:

In respect to the South African variant, they said that among a group of 800 study volunteers in South Africa, where B.1.351 is widespread, there were nine cases of COVID-19, all of which occurred among participants who got the placebo. Of those nine cases, six were among individuals infected with the South African variant.

Some previous studies have indicated that the Pfizer/BioNTech shot was less potent against the B.1.351 variant than against other variants of the coronavirus, but still offered a robust defence.

I've seen confirmation bias plenty, but this thread might take the cake, with a focus on a non-peer reviewed study given legitimacy, while ignoring mention of peer-reviewed evidence of vaccine effectiveness in his/her own linked article.

Real Covid may put you at risk of an Immunodeficiency Disease years down the line....like AIDS.

It may also present itself as a reactivated disease after laying dormant in your body for many years.
Example: You catch Shingles after the Chickenpox virus reactivates in your body years later.

People that are scared of the long term effects of the Covid vaccine most likely don't think about the long term effects of real Covid. A vaccine seems safer than a genetically altered virus that escaped from a Chinese Communist Party Virology Laboratory. Only time will tell.

Excellent point. There are viruses that are proven to cause cancer. Who knows what this one will cause?

No shite they’d support it, it keeps their doors open.

Kinda like how all climatologists agree on climate change.

Personally, I’m not getting a vaccine for a sickness that has a 99.9% survivability rate. If that makes one a tinfoil hat wearer, then I’m captain of that team.
