Do y’all realize half the ER’s in Nola will refuse some patients? Let that sink in

You ever been to the ER?
Think about the dumbasses that treat the EMERGENCY room like it’s some regular walk in clinic. New Orleans is full of dumbasses that do this. Of course they are refusing patients. It’s idiots they are refusing.

I find it ridiculous that 600 people in EBR took the test and 1 tested positive. Stop going to the doctor b/c you coughed twice in the last two days dumbasses. I blame the media, the government, and millions of dumbasses in this country for flooding our medical facilities for issues they shouldn’t be going there for.
If your over 50 and have flu symptoms, go to the damn doctor. If your a healthy young person with flu like symptoms, stay your dumbass home until you have shortness of breath, which will not happen anyway, but if my some miracle it does, then you go to the doctor.

Exactly, and this shite head is going to cause someone who just has a cold to jump out of a window.
You should be ashamed of yourself, OP.
LouisianaLady, I hope you start feeling better soon. Keep us posted.

People don't want to hear reality about this. They want panic. Someone earlier literally said that this virus will consume every one of us in the US. 100% with the kungflu. Nowhere has this happened, but panic is what seems to rule the day. Yes, there is a virus. Some cases are bad. However this op dope acting like everyone is going to need a ventilator and intubated when this hasn't been the case anywhere is just sheer panic.

I don't doubt that we don't have capacity at our hospitals to handle any national emergencies. Too many illegals and others taking up precious emergency rooms for regular crap.

People die every day. Most who die from this virus are either in their twilight years holding on or on their way out medically. That doesn't mean we should be heartless towards them, however it also seems like a whole lot to do for .04% of our population who might get this and .0003% who might perish. We'd save way more keeping people from killing themselves than will die from this virus. Again, I realize all death is bad for the family and people associated with it. But it's also something people deal with every day and last time I checked... we're still 100% all slated for death.

I still don't understand how you are lacking so much comprehension. I'm literally outright asking you what people in my situation should do, and you've yet to give an answer. You made a thread describing 5 different types of people, but wrote it in chronological order as if that is the pattern for everyone. As a result, you're helping nobody.

WHAT DO WE DO, IN YOUR OPINION?

Do we flood the doctors/ER/etc. right now while we are extremely mild and will likely get sent home? Do we wait to nosedive and be in more of an emergency situation when they are 10x more overwhelmed than they are now?

I don't see what you want here. I haven't acted like this was a joke anywhere on this board, but you made a terrible thread for anyone that is looking for tips.

OP did a terrible job trying to get his message across. It doesn’t make sense the way you are explaining it.

If you have symptoms but can manage them at home then don’t come in. Self quarantine. I pray that if you have it that you have a full recovery. Only go in if you your gut feelings thinks you are getting really sick. That was my point and that everyone should take this very seriously.

I suggest first off if you feel sick, go ahead and isolate yourself just out of courtesy. Treat your symptoms. Nyquil/dayquil, tylenol, motrin, etc. If it gets worse to intolerable, then call 911 and let them know you suspect you are in late stages of covid respiratory failure and ask them what to do.

Pretty much the same you would do if you had any other illness you needed medical attention for that could be a problem for the healthcare professionals coming to load you up. You'll end up getting triaged above almost all walkins at the ER that way.

Dr I agree. What happens when there are zero beds and staff is exhausted. Then what?

The test takes a 2-4 days to come back with results. The guy who tested positive probably isn't in the 600 number.

La Lady let me dumb it down for you. Say you have symptoms that could be a virus. You go to an urgent care. They will tell you we can’t test for it. So you go to an ER. They will ask you do you have a fever? You may say no. Guess what? You won’t get tested. You can still check in. Go to fast track and get sent home with a Tamiflu prescription. You could actually have it and have minimal symptoms. (I hope that is the case) You could go into respiratory distress. You call 911. If the ER’s are maxed out. Guess what? You are shite out of luck. What if that happens to one of your loved ones? Still think this is a joke?

I have several doctor friends on the front lines against this virus. I feel like this is the way they would explain it to me if I made them drink a bottle of tequila first and then hit them in the head with a bat twice.

Your communication skills are incredibly poor. The medical community would surely be appalled to know that you have taken it upon yourself to act as their representative.

That’s besides the point. Unless your old, stay your dumbass home. That’s what you should do if you had this virus, or the flu, out of consideration for the people you see daily to not give it to them. You will be just fine recovering at home. There is no cure for this virus, or the flu, and there won’t be one anytime soon. You can only treat the symptoms. Unless your old, your symptoms are more than manageable at home with otc medicine.

I went to the emergency room two days ago In the middle of the night for my son for an allergic reaction. What they said about the Corona was they won’t even think about testing you unless you have a fever of 100.4. If you do, they will test you for strep or the flu or both. If you don’t have either, them they would consider a corona test on you. Im pretty sure some places are just handing out tests to every dumbass that sneezes or coughs, which is why we are running out of tests.
