I was initially bought in to all the hype and taking precautions and distancing and stay at home order. That was until my wife tested positive a few weeks ago. She was absolutely asymptomatic, so we were questioning the results. She is a physician, so she has been exposed to many sick people and had many 'positive' patients. Out of caution, my kids and I and her entire office staff got tested and all were negative. My wife then retested for 3 consecutive days and was negative all three days. The lab stated there was virtually no chance of a false positive, but that is the only explanation of her test. She also tested negative for the antibodies.
The experience has created lots of doubt about the data and the threat. She had many 'positive' tested patients that were asymptomatic. There is so much doubt about all of these positive tests and the confidence in the testing accuracy is very low.
Many families, including mine, have been forced into extended quarantine as a precaution. We had to make the decision on the day she tested positive to not have our kids participate in baseball and other activities this summer. It has been a major pain in the arse and I have zero confidence that it was even necessary.
I don't like to be a conspiracy theorist, but I am really starting to believe that JBE and his leftist cronies are motivated by politics. They want to suppress the economy to try and hurt Trump and the the success of his policies.
It is time to rip off the bandaid and let herd immunity take over.

well tell her to come out and broadcast her opinion to the public. I mean she is a professional in the field.

She's not the correct type of professional.

what makes you think herd immunity would take over...you do realize that you can catch COVID 19 multiple times

You cannot catch it multiple times...there is 0 proof of that. It would be unprecedented for a coronavirus to not cause antibodies after infection... even if it is not lifelong protection. I've heard doctors mention that the only situation where this COULD potentially happen is with folks that have immune issues... so a very small% of ther population

I'm sorry that it has taken you this long.

We had a "pandemic" in 2009 - 2010. But that was a different time. You didn't have a media and the prevalence of social media hell bent on causing constant hyperbolic panic, largely for political reasons, on a daily basis like you do now. Covid-19 is very much real. But the reaction (really overreaction) is media and politically driven. You simply can't trust any of the data or what the "experts" say. Yes, I understand that this is to some degree a moving target. But good news with respect to the virus is almost universally (by the media) discredited, while daily cataclysmic bad news being the preferred message.

This has been the motivation since mid-April at the latest.

Take a look at the LA data thread with the number starting around 4/12-4/14 and ask yourself why in the hell did it take us to 5/15 to move to phase 1?

Next ask yourself, again based on the numbers between 5/15 and 5/29, why did LA not move to phase 2 on 5/29 instead of 6/5.

It was all political because the Dim governors are being driven by a national political narrative and not what is best for each state. This is is an election consequence for LA that would have been hard to foresee but I hope people in this state understand how much control the national Dims have over JBE now. The don't care that JBE is what some would call slightly-conservative on abortion and guns in LA....they push those ultra-left wing agendas in California, New York, etc. In LA they just need a Dim in the governor's seat so that they can have control in situations like this.

I hope this wakes people up in this state.

The only person we know with the Wuhan flu is a 96 year old who is in a nursing home. The only reason she knows she has it is because our state mandated the testing of everyone in a nursing home. She is on day 13 of quarantine within her nursing home and has ZERO symptoms. Not sick at all. No fever, no cough, nothing. Once she gets to day 15 and a negative test, she can go back to her original room.

Curious as to why she even took the first initial test?

We were planning to go to visit my parents, which we hadn't seen since the beginning of the stay at home. They are elderly and my father has had heart bypasses. Due to her patient's multiple positive tests and her potential exposure, she got tested as a precaution so as to not expose my parents.

Show us some examples with a link or at least a citation to where we can look it up. I can just about guarantee that if this had happened the media would have made sure that everyone in the world knew.

There’s very little evidence supporting people getting COVID multiple times. And yes, this thing has been overblown for quite some time now. The uptick in certain areas was inevitable, yet treated as some huge shocking revelation. The last I saw, percent of positive tests has been pretty consistent for a while.
