Pretty sure I just had it and gave it to all of my family. Knocks you on your arse for a day or two with about 101 degree fever that won’t go away. We survived.

One of my admins on Long Island has been away from work due to a seriously bad case of Covid for over a month.

She is, however, quite obese. Whether that impacts her condition or not, not sure, but this is her third bout against COVID and the first time she was ill for almost 8 months. I think some people are just more susceptible to it than others.

This summer’s increase could be fueled in part by the popularity of two movies — “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” — which have packed theaters nationwide.

“A movie theater or a big party where there isn’t much air circulation” could develop into a superspreader event, Bershteyn said, adding that “probably 80% of all COVID cases” arise from such events.

have gotten phone calls from 2 of our friends/relatives to let us know they have tested positive in the past 2 weeks.

I would tell friends/relatives I'm sorry they aren't feeling well and that's pretty much the limit of my giving a frick.

We were ‘close contacts’, so they were just being courteous to let us know. We didn’t change any of our behaviors once we found out, just self monitored for symptoms.

55% above what? 1 case, 10 cases, 1000 cases? Need a little context instead of screaming that we are all going to die.
