Sounds like you should be giving your thoughts and comments on this venture since it opens today and almost no one has been.

Pickleball aspect sounds douchey. The “creative name” aspect also makes it seem like a douchey place.

There’s one near my home called chicken and pickle. Amazing fried chicken sandwich with a side of fried pickles. Great pickle ball courts and other activities.

However, they are woke beyond belief.

I think it’s a good addition for Baton Rouge. Let’s be real, there’s not much to do for young adults in Baton Rouge and the bar scene absolutely blows. It’ll be a good place to watch away games for football.

It’s where I watched the LSU/Florida shoe game during Covid. It was oasis back then but same shite.

They have a similar concept in Tallahassee. It’s very busy and popular

sounds like a cool spot...these types of places have been in Austin and Houston area for years...

If I remember correctly he got this idea after visiting his daughter in Austin … either Bouldin Acres or Fieldhouse at Crossover both of which are always packed with people and families

I absolutely hate that guys like Gordon McKernan are so celebrated by people at LSU. The glorification of personal injury lawyers is one of the worst things about Louisiana.

I don’t think pickleball is douchey…good for ppl doing any sort of physical activity.

It is a conundrum that the largest billboard lawyer in the state that folks despise…LSU absolutely needs to compete in NIL.

If you’re not retired, you shouldn’t play pickleball.

I hope it lasts. That place has been a few things and it isn't that old of a building. Would be nice to have a place to bring the family in Br to hang with friends.

Without doing any market research, my gut tells me this isn’t sustainable if the focus is on pickleball. It’s a fad. It may last a couple years but the energy around it will fade.

What may help this particular restaurant is if they can put out good food that people like. If it is restaurant first , pickleball second then they may be able to manage the pickleball cliff when it comes.

Just my thoughts. I could very well be wrong. And probably am as I’m sure they didn’t spend millions without doing their homework.

Don't believe it's a fad. Indoor and outdoor facilities springing up everywhere, new players daily, tournaments, pro leagues, former Tennis pros participating ( McEnroe, Lendl , Agassi,Graff, etc). The main reason it isn't going away is that it is a sport that elderly can participate in and be competitive. Also the social aspect is unmatched. It is amazing the people I have met thru pickleball, many from different social circles that I would have never met otherwise.

Yeah,
Cause multi-billion dollar a year profit making insurance companies like Allstate, are helping LSU win out via NIL.

Sport: an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment. It's a sport
