Harley-Davidson® will continue to propel the performance of two wheels into the future through innovation and exploration, as it has done for the last 116 years, attracting the next generation of riders from around the world. Or, as Matt Levatich, President and CEO of Harley-Davidson says, "we will lead the next revolution of two-wheeled freedom to inspire future riders who have yet to even think about the thrill of riding."

Planning for that future started in earnest in 2010, when the company started working on its first electric motorcycle concepts, and the technology it would need to make them a reality. Four years later, the world got its first look at the results, with the unveiling of Project LiveWire™. Harley-Davidson took that prototype on the road to engage with motorcyclists around the country.

THEIR RESPONSES, THE EVOLUTION OF ELECTRIC PROPULSION TECHNOLOGY, AND HARLEY’S OWN DESIGN AND ENGINEERING EXPERIENCE CAME TO FRUITION WITH THE PRODUCTION LIVEWIRE™, THE FIRST OF WHAT WILL BE A BROAD PORTFOLIO OF ELECTRIC MOTORCYCLES BY 2022.

Can they make them as loud as regular Harleys?
If so, I'm sure bikers won't care if it's gas or electric

I ain’t riding no quiet hog.

The reason I ride a Harley is because I am unable to sexually satisfy the bitch on the back by myself. Thankfully my bike does the trick. Ain’t no electric hog gonna rattle like that.

Electric bikes are shockingly quick. The torque just defies logic.

I ride minis that we put 10x the factory power in... And it still doesn't prepare you for how OP they are

I ride motorcycles for decades and never understood why anyone would want an obnoxiously loud bike. If you’re out on a long multi-day ride, like riding from Alabama to North Dakota the it would drive me nuts. Yeah I like the sound of a well tuned Harley, but not the ones modified to be so loud you can’t even hear yourself think.

Do you have any idea how much of a pu$$y you would look like on an electric Harley?

I ride an old Indian because it is old . I can change the oil , work on it when needed and it sounds bad to the bone . I really don’t give a damn what anyone else thinks about it .

. Do you have A obsession that everyone is against people that ride? My brother rides and thinks that the whole world is against people that ride. He even told me before that anyone that has a Harley registered to them is on a terrorist watch list.

No. But as is obvious by many here, there are *some* people who do not people who ride.

I know some guys like that. No offense to your brother, but those types tend to be overly dramatic, somewhat feeble minded, and prone to delusions of grandeur.

Oh yeah. I’ve heard as well. There’s some variations to it. Some say all Harley riders, some say all motorcycle owners, some say all members of motorcycle clubs.

I will say this though. Back when I was still an active member of an MC, I’ve attended COC meetings where the state troopers had “safety roadblocks” set up to stop everyone attending the meeting. They only stopped motorcycles. They pulled us off the road, collected all our drivers licenses and took them over to an unmarked van for about 10 minutes. While they had our licenses, uniformed guys who looked geared up to storm Fallujah walked around us sitting on our bikes taking pictures of us front, back, and sides. When they were down they gave us our licenses back and sent us on our way.

I've ridden a Zero brand electric bike,
0-60 in 1.2 seconds. It is absolutely insannnnne. Saying that I'll stick with my Kawasaki, I prefer shifting, no batteries to charge and not sounding like a vacuum cleaner.
