Yeah, ive had offers but they would require me to travel a lot. I'd prefer not to travel. If I weren't married now, I'd be down for it.

Yep. I get at least 3 recruiters calling me every month.

Could make more but current job is about ideal for me.

I've been offered two jobs recently offering more money. Still contemplating.

Considering a one year gig that doubles my current pay. Only catch is I have to work one more day a week.
I can do anything for a year. Strongly considering it.

If that were the case, why wouldn't you just pursue the better opportunity now?

In my current salary and commission base - it would be highly doubtful

It really depends on defining "better". I could make more $, but in a field I tried out for a few years. It turned out not to be all it was cracked up to be. I came back to what I love and did for 20+ years for less money, and am much happier. The benefits being close enough to call equal, I took a pay cut to enjoy what I'm doing.
ETA: Damn, I rambled. The whole point, by my definition, is that I couldn't get a better job if I was fired tomorrow.

Getting fired tomorrow is something more people should plan for. In 2016 I got furloughed for 6 weeks while my wife was pregnant. Motivated me to get out of the volatile industry I was in and do a better job of keeping irons in the fire.

No. I could find the same exact job in 5 seconds, but it would be for less pay and for a worse company.

i took less cash for more weeks off. I could take 4 week vacation and more cash, or keep the job i have, getting 17 weeks off, paid.
So you're a teacher? Can't imagine any other job that would let you take a 1/3 of the year off.

It would take me a while to find a comparable job without moving

If I could I wouldn't be here on a Sunday at this shitty, thankless job.
