Nope, just typical coonassery.Carry on, after all it's your board. Hard to even understand discussing Alabama at all on your board.

well i guess the thread is going to devolve back into the trolling and back and forth arguments culture fanbase, etc.
the piece today again doesn't seem to have much in the way of facts or evidence, mostly speculation so its hard to get any new information.

Keep shining the light of truth on these filthy cockroaches in Tuscaloosa baws.

The next step is seeing if anyone else at the donation level of the Buns or higher has had Abernathy influence their arrests/charges in the past
In other news, water is wet.
Has zero to do with any school, mine, yours or anyone else's.

Ya as said about 34 - 40 pages ago, this is much more easily explained as a rich person / small town / good ole boy protection story unless Watkins is keeping some evidence to himself for some reason.

You are certifiable. I don't know the bunns or anyone involved. Stop digging yourself in deeper. Embarrassing at least and reeks of psycho problems.

Clicked into Watkins post and was what I expected: same old story with a bunch of speculation, supposition, and trolling. He just rehashes the same old stuff with nothing new.

Who's this Watkins guy and what does he have to do with anything?
Sorry, just started reading about all of this a few days ago.
Terrible, unfortunate situation for UA.

Yeah, that post today is ridiculous and Watkins has now devolved into attention whoring at this girl's expense, which is pretty repugnant.
Notice that he labeled the post "commentary," which he appears to think gives him the right to say whatever he likes under the guise of freedom of speech/press.
Unless he's in possession of emails between the interested parties that support his statements, he appears to be treading on thin ice, legally. I don't think the press shield laws apply to him, since he's not an official member of the "press" and Abernathy's wife and the people from the WGRC at UA aren't "public figures" for the purposes of liability.

Who is Watkins? How does he fit in with UA?

I'm starting to think placebeaux passed out at a krystals on bourbon street a few years back...

He won a pardon for the last living defendant in the Scottsboro Boys disaster; was the attorney in a number of civil rights lawsuits; defended Richard Schrushy in his first trial; and now owns an oil exploration company in Namibia and a bank in Birmingham. He was also the antagonist behind the Eric Ramsey case that brought down Pat Dye at Auburn.
Who is Watkins? How does he fit in with UA?
Recently, he rose to fame with his FB posts covering the Robert Bentley scandal. He was the first to post most of the information about the crooked deals and who did what, and, was nearly always spot on correct. At first, it appeared that he was doing something similar in this case, but this last post makes it seem to me that he got addicted to the attention and adulation during the Bentley affair and is looking to rekindle his ego stroke with this opportunity.
Like I and several other Bama posters have noted - there's plenty of wrong to go around and there are people involved who, at this point, apparently need to be held to account. But, Watkins is now insinuating that the local leaders in Tuscaloosa do UA's bidding. I know several of the local and UA leaders and can tell you that if that's true, it would suggest a completely different working relationship than I have ever seen. UA leaders and Tuscaloosa leaders don't cooperate like that. They are often at odds with each other, particularly on issues such as this, e.g. the dope roundups on campus several years ago or their continued conflicts over who should be paying for police services during football games, etc... The Bunns donate money to UA, but not in the amounts that would give them this kind of magical clout. After all, they were one of fifty or more donors in their category that was listed earlier in this thread. Their pull with local officials, however, may be more considerable.

The rich, I grant you, do live by a different set of rules. Stating that the university is insulated is disingenuous imho. LSU isn't above these instances, as it occurs at most schools. This is a tad different, though, in that is doesn't involve daddy getting little fratdouche son out of trouble in Tigerland. This is an alleged rape that was covered up at the institutional level. Connecting it to football, while plausible, isn't directly indicated here so I don't get that angle. Any LSU fans suggesting so are probably doing so out of stupidity or ignorance. On the other hand, deflecting what I see as deserved criticism of the school by the two "14's" posting in this thread is a sad reflection on them personally. It wouldn't surprise me if they were the fratdouche types themselves. It's horrible that this girl took her life and it doesn't take much to connect the dots from the way things were handled by the university to her suicide. Proving intent will probably be impossible though. I feel for her parents. No parent in their right mind would have thought that a school... through poor, or possibly even intentional decisions, could have led to the death of their child. This whole situation is horrible and the school definitely deserves this scrutiny until is cleans up its act.

The problem is the PD and the hospital. Both failed miserably, and the PD has been covering the Bunns and people like them for years.
Posted on 7/9/17 at 5:01 pm to llfshoals
The PD knew what it was doing, they are pros ay corruption. I agree the the hospital is just incompetent.
The statement by the Tuscaloosa cop that a lot of these kids are doing this just because their grades are bad tells me they talk to Alabama's Administration a lot, I mean how else would he know that?

What do you think old baw's end game is with writing these articles and posts? He obviously has connections inside feeding him information. He said so with the sheriff's office. He has to have a few sources at the DA's office as well.
For whatever reason he is showing he has no interest in ceasing, or desisting.
He is punching them in the mouth and begging them to fight. So far they have turned him down.
