This guy needs to be exposed for being a scam artist. I hope he's just lying about investors.

Frankly Florida can't even support Disney World, it takes the entire country plus a boat load of international visitors to make it profitable.

It couldn't be related to or even near any existing city in Louisiana.

I think Livingston Parish already holds that trademark.

The answer is no. Nowhere else in the US could. There's one on the West Coast and one on the East Coast. Each is supported by their half of the country (well, World is really supported by the whole country) and a ton of foreign visitors. There's no market for another one. There are stupid rumors of this in every state. There are rumors of a park in Texas, rumors of one in Missouri, etc, this has gone on for years and they are all BS. When I was a kid they were supposedly building one in Katy. Total BS. Just rumors that moms spread around little league/soccer/swim team practice.

New Orleans couldn't support the 1984 Worlds Fair for one summer. Or Jazzland. So no.

The Wisconsin dells could economically support a significant investment in an amusement park.

land is available
its fairly centrally located to major travel centers
its already a tourist location
its far enough away from the west and east coasts

problem would be Disney would block it,( buy up land and buy off politicians) since they've invested too much into Florida to allow any competition

This guy from Houma certainly thinks so: Bon Temps Resort Dude has been taking money in exchange for "shares" in the park for years now and promising ground breaking soon but in reality has nothing. It's nuts. Bonus FB page

This guy should watch out. People have been successfully prosecuted for similar schemes.

Rasulo said a North Texas Disney park would draw visitors away from the company’s two other parks — Disney World in Florida and Disneyland in California, according to market research.

No one is going to construct another park in the US on Disney's scale and Disney itself won't, either.

We lack the transportation infrastructure to handle something like that. The only way it would work would be for it to be located somewhere around New Orleans yet have plenty of parking, have great highway access, and be convenient to get to from hotels in the CBD and the airport via mass transit.

Basically, it would need several things:
1. Light rail between CBD and MSY
2. Streetcar line between CBD and park
3. A ton of land.

The natural spot to put it would be to put it New Orleans East at the old Jazz Land site, extend the new Bywater streetcar to it, and build the BR/NOLA commuter rail which would include a stop at MSY and one in the CBD.

The other option would be to somehow cram it in somewhere around Metaire, the Bywater, or the Lower 9

Priceless. Before you even consider the mechanics of having the park itself, think about what it needs... Infrastructure (ie roads to get to and from the park). Could you imagine the traffic on I10 in BR? It would be gridlock. How about a good work force? Lol, the low income workers it would take to operate the park would treat their jobs like Wal-Mart workers do.

You think Central FL had the infrastructure back then?
