Biggest con for me was not being able to find parking on 3 separate occasions. Dropped the membership because of it.
This is BS. There is always parking in the very back of the parking lots, even at 1pm on a Saturday which is typically the busiest time for most Costcos.

The best deal is when you get $160 back because you spent too much there and your membership is free.

Gas doesn’t count for the 2% back on the executive membership

Its not worth it. Spend $130 and then spend $3500 to get a $70 check? Vs spending $65 and not having to deal with a check being mailed to me. Total waste of time

Yeah, in Katy, it's "create your own space" by the dumpsters, or park across the street in the hotel parking lot.

My wife has our exclusive membership through her work so we don't pay shite and still get the 2% cash back

I don't really like Costco as a company and I don't enjoy going there.
I think you can get 90% of the benefit of Costco via Amazon, but there are a dozen or so things we consistently buy at Costco that are better and/or cheaper than things we can easily get elsewhere.
There are also certain scenarios where it makes a lot of sense - like formula, etc.

So you use Costco for what it's intended to be used for

Maybe, I think it's evolved to that. I feel like early on it was targeted toward huge families or people who ran the snack stand at the baseball field or whatever.
Costco in particular I think identified that there were holes in the market they could fill - for example - rip off Starbucks egg bites - that would create loyalty. I've joked about the pesto before, but I think the number of people that would list that as a component of keeping their membership is surprisingly high

I assume he's talking about the "ethnic diversity" in Costco.

I have the basic Costco membership. Am I not eligible to book vacations through them? I have always heard that's the best deal going.
Posted on 2/5/25 at 10:06 am to OysterPoBoy
5% costco gas and 4% other gas.

Ah, I didn't know we were talking about gas.
