Cost to fix dents on garage door?

Me, being the clown I am, got out of my car in a driveway without putting it in park (was an uphill driveway and my car wasnt moving with foot off the break so I didnt even realize I hadnt moved it to park yet). As I'm walking up the stairs to the house I hear metal clanking and look over to see my car accelerated into the garage. It couldnt have been going any faster than maybe 5 mph, if that, because the damage to the garage is fairly minimal (two panals dented in) and it still goes up and down the way it should. How much is this act of stupidity likely going to cost me?
Just trying to get an idea before the appraiser looks at it.

Have your husband hammer it out.

I doubt it’s enough damage for your homeowners deductible to be met. Are you trying to make an auto policy claim?

burn your driver's license and sell the car.

Trying to avoid going through insurance at all. Im assuming somewhere around 300-400 if its just replacing the panels/repairing the dents. Just want an idea of what a fair estimate would be.

Probably about $350
More like $3.50
Rubber mallet and a short peice of 2x4 is all you need.

Call someone and ask for a budgetary estimate over the phone?

It's probably cheaper to just replace the dented panel.
If you're around any new subdivisions try to find the superintendent or head laborer and get the phone number of the garage door installer (not the company he works for) and see if he'll replace it on the side for cash.

I replaced the bottom panel of a double width door and it was $500 installed.

Just call the garage door place and get an estimate...you are going to need new panels regardless.

most garage doors are not super expensive
figure out what brand you have and order a replacement panel and i assume you can remove a handful of screws required to replace it, its easy to do with basic hand tools

Shop around, and make sure to tell the Garage Door Service you choose you don't want their service technician to show up with a Emotional Support Therapy Dog. Seriously! I remember thinking I hope this guy doesn't suddenly go off on me. Like I said shop around. My garage door fell off the track....clowns charged me $ 350.00 to hang it back. Shoulda, coulda, woulda.......but I didn't want to deal with it.
Also if you purchase a Home Warranty read the small print. One (of two) 40 gallon gas water heater went out. The water heater was still under warranty. They replaced it okay, but I had to pay extra for the plumber to haul the leaky WH off AND extra (they said) to rearrange the piping. The extra stuff cost me $ 375.00. Read the contract before you schedule a service call.
Buyer beware!

I recall when a friend took the drivers license away from his grandmother. It is also time for you.
You just can’t handle a real vehicle anymore, even if you think it’s adorable or entertaining. Just stay inside and pretend.
