One time I kept getting bugged by a sub that wanted a piece of a huge project we were working on. He emailed me twice a week, I never answered.
Finally got fed up and forwarded one of his emails to a coworker who is an acquaintance with the sub. I said "this fricking retard from so&so won't leave me alone, make some shite up about XYZ project so he quits blowing up my frickin email."
I get an email later that day, it's from the sub to my coworker and I'm copied on it. It says
I scroll down and my jaw hits the floor. My dumbass coworker forwarded the email I sent him (where I called the sub a retard) to the sub. He called me and was like "oh man im so sorry, meant to delete that part, I just didn't feel like copy/pasting his email in a new message."

Nothing happened to me, just felt like a dick. It's construction though, the guy's heard way worse and he probably knows hes like that. Little insect in people's ears begging for work

My outcome? Nearly got in a fist fight and would have gotten my arse kicked. I was a colonel and he was a lieutenant colonel. He was easily six inches taller and outweighed me by thirty plus pounds. Huge screaming match.
Lesson learned.
And yes, I use the same technique of “plausible deniability” now. Phone calls only for situations like that.
