A memorandum from the U.S. Military Entrance Processing Command (MEPCOM) says applicants who have previously tested positive for the COVID-19 novel coronavirus won't be allowed to serve in the armed forces, according to Military Times.
This has been verified by the pentagon. My question is why would people that have already had the virus be disqualified? I’m confused. Newsweek MSN Write Up

Maybe COVID is a serendipitous catalyst for world peace.

If Dr. Wong (USAREC Surgeon General) can disqualify an applicant he will.

Ok that is making a little more sense, and in the story they are basically saying they don’t know what damage this crap does to people.

Is there something that they're not saying about getting this virus?

But coronavirus is the same as the flu. Are people that had the flu disqualified from military service?

See that was my first thought, what do they know they aren’t telling us? Or are they being precautionary as the second link seems to hint towards.
I have no idea.

Makes sense to not want Wuhan flu people in the military.

Is this a Trojan horse the CCP inserted into the bodies of Americans and potentially can take over brain function at a future date?

It's still stupid. We have lost our collective minds.

No it isn’t. Because in the hospitalized cases they are finding significant diffuse scarring of lung tissue even if you never get so bad as to require getting on a vent. You don’t see with every other virus. The scarring is apparently is visible on imaging in even mild/asymptomatic cases. It’s premature to publically state it but the issue has been identified and recurrent for long enough to warrant consideration.

It would have been better to include lung capacity requirements (if there aren’t already) rather than COVID-19 based exclusion.

Makes sense. If this virus hospitalized you then you’re very immunocompromised already and probably have a weak respiratory system. And this virus preys on that and makes it worse.

You probably don’t want that in a military active duty personnel.

Only a little.

Severe cases can damage lungs permanently.

It should be about having damaged lungs, not just having the virus or being hospitalized

Very common for the military to add and remove requirements. They are fat and happy with retention.

If retention goee to shite they'll accept a covid, transgendered, cocaine addict.
