The ratio of votes to my post will indicate the percentage of Americans who know anything at all.

I suspect about 20% of us are intelligent.

This comparison makes sense in your brain?

Price gouging is not real. It’s a necessary component of capitalism so that all who need a product can have access to it.
This is correct. Most people have problems understanding scarcity and microeconomics. You're going to have a tough time selling this here.

Yep. For example, if TP were priced appropriately right now, there wouldn't be people hoarding it

All they need to do is go on a search for toilet paper. It’s all gone because it was all too cheap. It’s so easy to see.

When he is held up at gun point because he thinks he has thousands of dollars in merchandise it will become very real.

Should have been more low key. Just like a buck or two more per bottle. Profit.

Yes, Amazon has found a way to make huge profits by getting people to give them money for stuff they think they need. Many overpay for the convenience but at the end of they dat, nobody is putting a gun to anyone's head.

If you need the hand sanitizer and are willing to pay for it, then do it. If not, there are many other cheap and available alternatives.

I understand the concept that as demand increases, the stores should have raised prices to deter overbuying and hoarding. Despite that, what the guy in the article did is shitty and he deserves criticism. I think in situations like the one currently we have to think beyond the laws of pure economics and have social values.

Something tells me if he'd stayed on the lower end of that spread, he'd still be selling.

While I'm a firm believer in capitalism, I also believe sometimes people just deserve a good arse whipping....Matt and Noah fit into that category.

When stores run out, he will be the man. There's no such thing as price gouging.

Just create a new account and sell at a modest markup. Solid effort, whoever paid $70 for a bottle needs a throat punch.

Making it too expensive for poor people would help everyone get it.

Don't bother. People around here can't fricking understand PEMDAS. You think they're going to understand the need for prices to increase in response to demand to avoid shortages?
