Are the assumptions for current measures in place accurate?
No stay at home order
Schools closed
Non-essential businesses remain open
No travel restrictions

It seems to be weighing those pretty heavily.

According to this, Alabama didn't close non-essential businesses until Saturday at 5pm. LINK

It also appears they don't have a stay at home order in place. Birmingham has a stay at home order, but I think the governor is just asking people to stay home, but not issuing anything official.

The non-essential order went into effect this past Saturday so I guess that’s why they haven’t updated it

What doesn’t make sense is that Mississippi has also not implemented any of that and currently has a similar demographic, resources, and total cases/deaths yet Alabama is projected to have 6K more deaths by August.

I'm guessing the hotbed will either be Huntsville or Birmingham.

Alabama's projection is based on the fact they added 13 deaths yesterday that were under investigation. That website algorithm is assuming a linear increase.

Nothing has radically changed in cases or hospital availability.

Also they might be looking at total reported deaths. There are currently 26 reported deaths but 17 confirmed.

They aren't reporting deaths as COVID deaths.

Germany calls this a death due to kidney failure

17 year old who drinks bleach has asymptomatic covid and dies

Louisiana counts this as a covid death

well that was dumb. You should have used this vacation time to go outside for a walk. Or maybe take some practice cuts with Braxton in the backyard since travel ball is cancelled for the time being (one of the big downsides of this imo).

I’m not on vacation. I get terrible cell signal at my house. I had a bunch of calls today so it’s easier to come in and take them. Also easier to focus. I’m the only one on my floor. Pretty nice actually.

My 6 year old golfs with me when he’s up to it. We don’t force any sports on him. Tee ball is his second favorite though. We play in the backyard sometimes.

He’s bombing the golf ball. Sent a vid to Chappy after he started the family golf thread on the golf board.
