By that logic, your "freedoms" are constantly restricted regardless of an active pandemic. You cannot drive 100 MPH down a highway. You cannot walk around naked in public. Your ability to carry firearms in certain places is also restricted.
Laws like these have been in place forever. They are all constitutional.

Are you saying that the freedom of associate has not been restricted due to these orders?
Nothing has changed on that front in the last month is what you are stating.
I'm not arguing legality or constitutionality, Im asking has there been limitations.

Coronavirus Update (Live)
Earlier they had USA +14,### new cases today. Most of them i New York. Now, they are showing 8,149. Are they fudging numbers to not panic people? Or was this just a correction?

The founders offered platitudes concerning inherent human rights but the fact of the matter remains we only truly have the rights that the state chooses to let us have. One visit to a Japanese internment camp would have made that abundantly clear.

Your argument is purely semantics. Dojowhathisname was saying the government was taking away freedoms. The reality is the government has always had the ability to regulate a wide variety of what people perceive to be unlimited "freedoms." And none of that is attributed to a police state theory or government overreach. Unless one thinks having a republican form of government is in-and-of-itself governmental overreach.
What am I saying ultimately? The nation is facing a crisis. Calm down. It will pass. There is no nefarious intent.

Not sure why people keep saying this, isn't the gov. WANTING people to start to panic in order to quarantine, etc ?

Agreed.
They are removing freedoms all the same. No one stated that the freedoms wouldn't be returned.

Thought this might useful for some to see and compare. Its just an excel spreadsheet I made using numbers from worldometer since March 1st.
Trend 1 was just an interpolation of the deaths from 3/3-3/17, and then trend 2 was just an extrapolation going forward after deaths spiked for 3/17-3/20. These trends arent based on any single health assumption just the current trend based on current data from worldometer.
Please note I am not projecting the trends to come true, simply saying if current trends continue, these are the numbers. to expect.

Two things could alter those trends substantially. More tests, at some point, will mean more recorded asymtomatic and mild cases. The rate of new infections now is likely from before social distancing measures. I’d expect positives cases to spike and deaths to begin to flatten or, possibly, trend down. Doesn’t mean it will happen, but I’m going to hold on to that until it’s proven otherwise.
Thanks for making this graph.

It might be just be a blip in the data, but you can already see a small spike in new cases versus deaths staying at the same rate. Like you said it remains to be seen if that continues.

Those type of exponential scales make things seem much worse than they are. We are not that close to Italy in any Respect.

We need cases to go through the entire process before a blanket statement like that can be made. 6 days ago the US had 4000 cases and we're over 30000 now. Those 26000 cases need to get through the process. I don't believe we'll get to Italy levels but you can't make any assertions yet. Great Britain had a very low rate and now they're pushing 5%.
ETA: There are statements from doctors all over the world that once a patient goes on a ventilator they don't come off. The ventilators are not being freed up for the new patients that need them.

Someone: can I please freak out now??? This is fricking bizarro world and I’ll almost starting to think the world is ending. Y’all call me crazy I don’t care.
How is this shite even going to end?? Lock down. Ok — when I’m out if I’m positive I’ll infect someone and it’ll start all over again.
I’m about to drink myself into oblivion.

Please. There have been posts almost daily saying that we are on Italy’s trend just a week behind... just a week behind... that was two weeks ago. The first recorded case in the US was mid January. We’ve never been on their trajectory.

If 4000 to 32000 in 6 days isn't concerning to you I don't know what to tell you. No offense. Look at the deaths in two weeks when the 28000 new cases have gone through the entire process. I hope they're all recovered.
