Roughly 80% of those who get this virus show only mild or no symptoms at all.
Wow, I feel so much better. So does that mean 1 in 5 needs medical attention?

You mean self control?
That is a crazy idea.
Apparently.
But this is the O-T in the middle of a crisis. We abandon all sanity, reason, and accountability during times like these.

Our ventilated pts are on paralytics and most are proned. I haven't admitted or heard of any DNR Covid pts. Don't give them any neb treatments though. I would guess just typical drips/high dose opiates?

I just pray that those who get this but either don't have a vent available or are DNR are at least made comfortable you know? I'm used to death -- I don't like it but it is what it is. Some of our residents are in situations that a comfortable death would be a blessing. Not being uncaring or unchristian, just truthful.

What? there is a big gap between showing no symptoms and having to go to the hospital

Lmao!!!! So you’re expecting this to grow in the millions per day at the tail end? Like China? Why is a less densely populated nation 30x more susceptible than a larger more poor nation?
Also, your incompetence statement.... so we’re incompetent because this virus is mostly harmless and asymptomatic to most in our population yet the people in charge can wreck our economy shut everything down and not be incompetent? Man you doomsday ppl are an absolute disgrace
LMAO right back at you... Do you understand exponential growth? Do you understand what the doubling rate means? With a doubling time of 5 days (current projection) you go from 100k cases to 1.5 million cases in a span of 20 days. Eventually so many people are infected that herd immunity comes into play and it levels out.
We are incompetent because we had a 45 day head start on this thing and still are not rolling out tests. Testing is key. If we could sufficiently test the population you can effectively quarantine infected people and you could allow the rest of society to function normally. We still don't have sufficient testing. South Korea and Singapore has kicked our butts on how to deal with this (they have SARS to thank for that).

Not really a guess. No clue what y'all get out of downplaying this situation.

Where was the exponential growth in China and South Korea? The Chinese pretended there was no problem for over two months before they finally started tackling the problem.

Another Diamond Princess passenger has died

Well, I would reply that there are two hospitals in the Nola metro that I was told don't have a real issue, but then you would disagree and call me an idiot.
So, then I am stuck either believing two people who have no reason to lie to me and turn down masks offered to them? or you, who argues with any and every statement to be made on this board.
I asked jennBN where she worked only because I was wondering if things have changed in the last 5 hours.

Infectious disease expert right here.

They literally welded the country shut. And South Korea EXPLODED from literally 1 person at the church.
Which is also the exact opposite of what you're suggesting we do here.
You really this full of shite or just like churning the shite?

Commander Data you should start your own thread or we should have an OT COVID19 Positive thread. Keep it simple. Give a timeline of specific symptoms for you and family members and how you are doing now. It would be very helpful/informative for the board.

Likely helped that their leaders didn't call it a hoax a week ago.

Someone my mom knows went to Terrebonne General, they told her she had the symptoms and to go to Ochsner Urgent care for the test, cause that's where they're at. She gets there and they say they can't give her the test cause she doesn't have cancer, isn't immuno-compromised, and isn't homeless.

a disease that is killing off the sick and elderly...sounds too coincidental not to be engineered
