No, they did not. South Korea was able to get things under control without shutting their country down.

One of these things is not like the other.

I am in Northern California. I can't day definitively but our shortages may have happened quicker because our infections started earlier or from the cruise ship pts that had to processed. There was also a recent recall in January for surgical supplies from a company, Cardinal, that also contributed.

There are numerous articles and accounts. Feel free to google. I wish these were rumors, I wish I had PPE. Once my N95 bites the dust....I am wearing a paint respirator P95 to work. Sad but true. Hopefully where ever you are is in a better predicament but you will run through them fast with so many being PUIs now.

If the ace inhibitor connection has any truth it was designed to go after out of shape Americans on BP medicines.

The blame needs to be laid at the feet of the CDC... they bungled this terribly. Trump didn't help early on, but it was the CDC's approach that really set us back.

My company phased out N95's last year due to inefficiencies, and I happened to have two boxes laying around my shop from then. Handed a few out to some people who were concerned. Wish I had a lot more.

Was referring to China.

South Korea is obviously the outlier but they had GPS setups to sound alarms when quarantined patients left their househoulds.

We're over here testing 20 people per day in massive municipalities.

Collective effort of ignorance.

Where was the exponential growth in China and South Korea? The Chinese pretended there was no problem for over two months before they finally started tackling the problem.

The Chinese pretended there wasn't a problem for a month, and by that time it was too late.

The South Koreans did an excellent job of testing early and often. Thus they mitigated the spread through effective quarantine. Exponential spread happens until effective measures are taken to limit the spread, weather comes into play (sometimes) or it infects enough people that herd immunity is built up.

Yeah...it is ironic that the person I am responding to is claiming China didn't call it a hoax given what we know.

I like you buddy but you really should stop talking down to posters in this thread. From the start you have said this was nothing but the flu. You were wrong then and you are wrong now. Regardless stop attacking folks here and calling them idiots. Have some integrity brother.

Too late for what? It's not like it ravaged the country. In a metropolitan area of 10 million people, the virus we are shutting our country down for killed roughly 3,000 people and infected roughly 70,000-80,000 people.

And I still stand by that.

I wish I were wrong. Because then the lives that will be lost from the panic/economic shutdown might be somewhat worth it. Instead...it's going to be a waste.

Have no fear though, I will not rub it in when this turns out to be the biggest debacle since Y2K. I don't bask in tragedies.

South Korea dude.

And the fact that you're willingly quoting information out of China as fact is even more contradictory.

Continue with the hot air though, whatever makes you feel better through all this I guess.

Their numbers line up with everything we know about this virus so far. South Korea and Japan were not seriously damaged by the virus. Germany hasn't seen anything substantial either.

The Diamond Princess has shown us what this thing is truly about. Over 3,000 people on board, 700 get sick, only 7 die.

But yeah, hell ,I've been working all week and still doesn't feel like Friday. It's like I'm just working until they tell me I can't work.
