You think the virus just disappeared in SK??
Probably not, they can be reseeded from outside sources. Their curve flattened. How did that happen if they missed a significant number of positives like you suggest?
Posted on 3/20/20 at 9:28 am to WaWaWeeWa
Because it’s not nearly as bad as people made it out to be. I already said that.

They had to have missed a lot. They tested about half a percent of their population.
They used contact tracing to identify a large number of the cases without letting many slip through the cracks.
It works like this... let’s say you get sick with CV. They isolate you and through rigorous questioning they find everyone you possibly could have had contact with since you were exposed. All of those people are tested and isolated wether they have symptoms or not. They went to the extreme with this.
You eventually gain control of the spread if you start early enough in the process. Saying that they tested 1% doesn’t really prove anything.

So you believe they caught every case.

In your mind it’s not. Nothing you are saying can be supported by data or facts. It’s just your gut feeling and wishful thinking. You are no better than the people you are criticizing.

The City of Memphis last night ordered the closing of restaurants, bars, and gyms and has authorized the MPD to close those businesses that are violating the order. The Shelby county health department also said they are seeing community spread within the city too.

So I take it you are going to completely ignore the analysis I posted a couple of days ago from that Stanford professor?

At what point are the admins gonna make you take a break for a while?

That's a very extreme assumption. I dont think any logical person including you really believes that. It's not possible.

It’s a fact that thousands (More likely millions) of cases are being missed worldwide. SK had asymptomatic cases too. Those people still spread it. It’s ignorance to think they eradicated it completely in that amount of time given the number of cases. The curve flattens on its own eventually. Did what they do help? Sure. Of course. I’m not disputing that. Isolation slows the spread. But it doesn’t stop the spread without a decent vaccine. Only thing is herd immunity at this point and with that it still has to propagate. If we assume it has propagated thoroughly through SK then, again, it’s not nearly as bad as people think.

Post the study. I looked through the entire article and can’t find it. The article said they used Chinese data. Are we believing Chinese data?
You are ignoring genetic tracking that I’ve posted that shows when and where the virus came from

You think it ran through SK and they have herd immunity? And the only hospital it over ran was in Daegu despite that area not being where their most elderly are?
Not even the South Koreans are saying that.
Again. No data. Just feelings.

The Stanford study I believe was from the Diamond Princess - but I don’t recall what assumptions it made about the cases that are not yet reporting resolved.

That’s right. I would like to see the study. I want nothing more than for it to be correct but I’m not going to blindly listen to a news article without evaluating the study.
There is a lot of confirmation bias going on in here. I’m not saying I’m immune to it, but at least I’m trying to address it.

Man people have a lot of friends now...
Edit:if this was true...no way they announce it while the market is on track for day 2 of gains. That’s some shite that happens at 5pm on a Friday.

Sorry for that, baw. I know you probably had many a heated argument over that as you got older. Mom’s gone now. I love her, but I will always remember the hold nicotine had on her.

North Korea still reporting zero cases. They have this shite on lock.

Smoking was the least of her problems. 4 times divorced. Isolated from all of her family including her kids. She’s still kicking (and smoking) but I haven’t spoken to her in almost 2 years since her brothers funeral.

If they're planning on doing it, at this point what difference does it make? This shite is out of control.
And the only reason gains are being made is inside traders are shifting all their assets to Healthcare, CPGs and WFH software companies.
There aren't going to be any "real" gains for a long arse time.
