The mall in Houma is closing tomorrow night at 6 and won't reopen for a few weeks.
Why? They always have less than 10 people there anyway.

Is that where you are on this? Resorting to name calling on someone that doesn's align with your thinking? Sad.

What's confusing to me is its nearly 90 degrees and humid in Jakarta and they are having the same issues with Covid 19. Wouldn't the heat and humidity help?

I want off this ride. Jefferson County has 17 cases and community spread now. Everything is shutting down.

If you continue that graph it continues to match very closely. Italy was at 3,800 cases by day 13. We are at 3,500 right now (Day 13 for the US).
Is there a graph that shows Italy vs US deaths by day?

I haven't downvoted a thing. We're all entitled to our opinions and we know what that means.

UK went from 16 dead to 55 dead in two days. Their rate is now at 3.53%.

How can you look at the measures taken so far and call that "slight"?! This will probably end up costing in the ballpark of a trillion dollars in lost economic output. It's not the virus doing that, it's our response to it.
Ok tell us what happens in the scenario where the hospitals are overflowing and people are dying before they can even be seen, most of the healthcare workers are out all at the same time, etc.
The stock market keeps hitting record highs and business is booming?
China couldn’t even do that. They knew the virus already broke containment. They didn’t shut down Wuhan to try to contain it. They shut down Wuhan because they tapped out. They couldn’t take it anymore.

Did I hear JBE right that there is a case in AP now?
Posted on 3/16/20 at 5:59 pm to Kingpenm3
I have to call you out on this one. It’s not a very fair comparison since our cases are spread over a much larger area with more resources.

My home state of Arkansas now has 22 confirmed cases after having none a few days ago and being one of the last several states without a case.
They are also monitoring 268!! more while waiting for results.
This has opened my eyes more than anything previously, I thought AR would be my getaway if things got bad down here in the FL panhandle or neighboring states got bad.
I don't think there's gonna be anywhere not touched by this to some degree. They're keeping restaurants and bars open for now, but banning gatherings and the governor asked all residents to not leave the state. Not long before they take harsher measures, I would think.

I’ve said for almost a week to just quarantine the old farts and let the rest of us go about our lives.
Blatantly ignorant. This could cause countless cancer patients who still work, immune compromised and others with health issues’ lives. You basically want to sacrifice this large group of Americans just so you can carry on as normal
