It sure seems like the feds are taking the view that more confirmed cases will lead to more panic.
Which not only might be endangering people’s lives, but also is the opposite in terms of panic. More testing would lower the mortality rate and it would also allow for more regular activities in society. You wouldn’t have to quarantine everyone who might have it, you can test and find out and then act accordingly

I don't think this is true. I think they're having trouble getting all the of results back from local municipalities/hospitals and verifying them.
I think having a much higher number while maintaining the current death rate could quell panic. People would see there are actually like 100,000 cases and still only ~40 deaths or whatever it is.

Well from other people’s stories it seems like the guidelines are still only test if you can prove contact with a corona victim or foreigner. The testing guidelines don’t seem to have embraced the reality of community spread.
Now if that’s just incompetence or an ulterior motive is up for debate

Disagree with my other opinions, but I promise you he would be turned right around and sent home at this point of his symptoms
If he simply wants to get tested, call hospitals around him and setup a time to come in just to get tested. Those testing should work with him

Do we know if there is a 'Patient Zero' or were there several first carriers? If he is not dead yet, how is society going to collectively agree on the proper torture and execution of said individual?
