What do you think the numbers really are? Throw out a number.
I know this is some type of game or pissing contest to you slackster, but it isn’t to me.
I don’t know the number. We have reports of 90-100k cases - may or may not be true. The Harvard study estimated 10k two days ago. I think as of yesterday it was somewhere between those numbers, and that it will continue on its exponential growth curve. This is a society that doesn’t practice basic sanitation like handwashing with soap according to SerpentZA (who lived in China for years) It’s worlds different than Hong Kong and Japan in dealing with this type of disease.
The premier said it was accelerating today. Those are strong words.

Are you afraid of this current event?

@PDChina
Three Chinese doctors are confirmed infected with the new #coronavirus in Beijing. Two of them went to #Wuhan for business. All of them and people had close contacts with them are in quarantine.

It certainly has my attention.
There is a chance it becomes a global pandemic. There is a chance it does little outside of China. If the former is true we should all be worried.
I am worried for Honkus. He has two little boys in there right now. That is terrifying.

I cant remember the country, but 3 of the 4 cases are related family members. Just think about all these people out mingling the last two weeks, now they are restricted to the city and their homes.
The link I posted above believes the food market is an after the fact excuse and more than likely not the culprit.
I think it was Vietnam.

Its kinda worrying when a country is blocking roads by dirt. Dont usually see that from something not very serious. It may be a nothing burger, but the actions speak louder than words at the moment.

I have no idea what to make of this.

The first person known to have been infected by the Wuhan coronavirus
had never visited the city’s seafood market – regarded as the epicentre of the outbreak
– according to Chinese researchers, who also called for extra precautions against airborne transmission of the disease between humans.
The researchers, seven of whom work at Wuhan’s Jinyintan hospital, designated for patients with the illness, revealed on Friday in ?The Lancet medical journal that symptoms of the new disease were first reported on December 1 – much earlier than the Wuhan government’s initial announcement on December 31 of 27 cases of the pneumonia-like infection.
According to the report, the first patient had no exposure to the Huanan seafood market which was shut down on January 1 over fears – later confirmed
– that the new virus was linked to its trade in wild animals. The researchers added that none of the patient’s family had developed fever or any respiratory symptoms. There was also no epidemiological link between the first patient and the later cases, they found.
I have no idea what to make of this.

So saying there is a chance that it does nothing and there is a chance it spreads to other countries in significant numbers is laughable to you?
We have a Harvard epidemiologist saying the same thing.

Because a gallstone inside of a bladder is JUST like lung tissue swelling up and adding excess fluid while you are trying to breathe.

There is another thread for his specific situation if you haven’t already posted this in that thread too.

Supportive care could mean a lot of things.
Did they use steroids? Did they paralyze after intubation for ARDS? Etc
