No. I'm simply thinking straight. More people will die in riots from this decision than will die from the virus itself.

Riots because they are quarantined?

That people are needlessly freaking out and wishcasting this into some type of plague by repeating over and over again how serious this virus is even though the numbers indicate otherwise.

It’s that attitude alone that spreads diseases and causes strain on the system. Because everyone with a runny nose now feels like they need to go to the ER or their doc office.
Look man, I know for a 100% fact the United States government is fricking up this testing/screening process.

People aren’t comprehending this. Very few people can get tested.

So no personal experience, got it.

We aren’t trying to test people with runny noses. We are trying to test people who are desatting with viral pneumonia, have potential for recent contact risk, and have tested negative for flu and other common viral etiologies.
We are being told NO.

What do you think the fatality rate will be once we include the people who don’t show bad symptoms or no symptoms at all and don’t ever get tested like they do for the flu?

No, the testing is deemed necessary because most physicians want to know what the hell they are trying to treat.

These people are already in a hospital right?
Posted on 3/9/20 at 5:06 pm to TigerChief10
This is just as irrational a fear as black people thinking cops are coming after them trying to shoot them when they walk out the door.

These internet experts are infuriating today. The political talk board has gone full retard (even more than usual) and I can't even stand to read it anymore.

You treat all upper respiratory viruses the exact same.

I have already said, South Korea numbers make the most sense to me given their widespread testing.
I am not simply guessing about our lack of testing. I am telling you the facts.

me when I get pulled over any time in the next 6 months:

No you don’t. I can promise you that the physicians that get diagnosed early will want meds that have shown some results in China.
They are already vetting the info as much as possible. The goal is to try and keep the lung issues from occurring, instead of just crossing fingers and hoping.

I’ve actually been trying to find the flu numbers for South Korea. In general, Asian countries have a higher overall rate simply because their population is older and that’s the most susceptible group. The 0.68% would make more sense if it was compared to just that population.
