I’m actually a little disappointed that my illness-related musician name game didn’t catch on.

Just a reminder for all those the sky is falling folks from our pediatrician.
A voice of reason.
That is an appropriate response with appropriate information.
Those within the medical field who are not searching for increased grants or funding seem to be reasonable.

We learn new things every day.

You’re about to in about a month unless we start testing and knowing who to isolate

seriously man, what are you trying to do here? You have literally zero to offer.
Posted on 3/9/20 at 4:53 pm to Tiguar
Only because everyone is overreacting for fear of looking like they aren’t doing something for safety reasons.

Italy isnt shutting down their economy and entire country because people are anxious. Its because they realize if they can slow down the spread of the virus their health care system has a much better chance of holding up.

Really?

My bad. I suppose if I quoted and linked 2 week old articles using 4 week old data from China and told everyone to expect the US to deal with 8 million casualties, I’d be more helpful.

some people just take prior experiences such as the ones they had with ebola and swine flu and use those experiences to realize that everyone is freaking out for no fricking reason.

Look man, I know for a 100% fact the United States government is fricking up this testing/screening process.
Every patient my institution has tried to test has been told they don’t meet criteria because they didn’t French kiss a known infected person.
They have viral pneumonia. Everything else is negative. They were at an international conference. It wasn’t until our private lab entity got the assay that we could send it off.
That’s all some of us are saying. We, collectively, are doing a piss poor job of even attempting containment

Ebola, swine flu. Did the mass hysteria justify what those actually did? Think about these things then ask yourself if you should really be this worried
