I saw that. He claims that the other worker used a racial slur.

Every time I’ve been to China and Singapore, all of our dinners were basically sharing from the same large plates. The food would rotate around the table on a lazy susan and we would all just dig our chopsticks in and take what we want. Germ control doesn’t normally seem to be a thing over there, so it’s not surprising that diseases spread so rapidly in Asia.

Malaria is such an 1800's disease. It never gets the limelight anymore. Ebola's the new hotness.

This sounds similar to the coonass-virus that has infected south Louisiana for years.

Who is laowhy86 and why should I believe a word he says?

What's his background and expertise on infectious diseases?

Maybe his stunning credentials as an expert on Chinese social media stars on TikTok qualify him.

Lost me when the guy in that video said the 106 death rate is double the 79 recovery rate. 106/2=53 in case you are wondering. Blatant exaggerations in a video purporting to tell the truth don't make me want to watch any more of it.

Malaria isn't typically deadly. It just makes you feel like absolute shite for weeks, months, and sometimes years.

True. It kills 400,000 people in Africa every year, but there's something like 230 million cases a year. It's not really that lethal, but it still hammers Africa hard just from the sheer number of cases.

Malaria used to be endemic to parts of the US, in areas you wouldn't think. The Wilder family of Little House on the Prairie fame contracted it while living in Wisconsin.
