That isn’t happening now and won’t happen.
There have already been at least a hundred things that I've been told "would never happen" that have already happened due to the virus.
Say that the TSA doesn't do it. Individual airports could, or even airlines. Would I be more likely to fly an airline where everyone getting on the plane had been tested. Hell yeah. So would everyone else. As we expand rapid testing, it's going to happen.

Perhaps, but I’d wager that most businesses (or bosses?) still don’t “like” the work-from-home model. I know I can do a lot from home, but certainly lose a great deal of capacity. I can’t fill eight hours a day right now from home. I can’t be the only one.
A lot of my job is working my sales territory and being in front of customers. Drive time typically eats up a lot of my time cause my territory goes as far as 2 hours away. Between that time taken away and market slow down, I am much less busy than typical.
We have always had the freedom to work from home but now I can tell upper mgmt hates that it’s required. They were slow to do it since we were essential
My wife on the other hand has been working from for a month. They are ready to get back in the office but they are keeping up for the most part. After this, I envision that they will do a few work from home days a month if not more.

But don’t underestimate the penny pinchers at the top and challenging “we can put another 200k to the bottom line if we do remote meetings”

Per Capita Death Rate of NY State on par with Spain
CFR still way better for US reported statistics vs Spain/Italy
NY State:
151,171 cases, 6268 deaths, 318 deaths per 1MM people (no 4/9 report yet)
Spain:
152,446 cases, 15,238 deaths, 326 deaths per 1MM people (4/9 data reported)
Italy:
139,422 cases, 17,669 deaths, 292 deaths per 1MM people (no 4/9 data reported)
Louisiana:
17,030 cases, 653 deaths, 140 deaths per 1MM people. (no 4/9 data reported)

Here is how I see it happening:
Business travel is going to be cut across the board. In many cases it was already unnecessary. Like my lawyer neighbor who traveled from Houston to Pittsburgh every week.
The cost savings and revenue will be within an explainable margin so it won’t appear to be hurting business.
This will be the trend for awhile
Then 60 minutes will run some story on this revolutionary business that is seeing wild growth by having in person meetings

Oh I hate remote meetings... sucks so bad.
I’m 100% behind the in person model being more effective but when an exec is shown two balance sheet options, 9/10 they will choose the more cost efficient

Test would have to be way less intrusive than a sinus swab to gain acceptance. Breathalizer type thing? The other problem is false positives. If a test has a false positive rate of 1%, and 1% of the population is sick - then 50% of all positives when you sample a random population will indeed be false.
It's either temperature measurement as part of your daily TSA groping or nothing.

Not necessarily... now that all have worked remotely, I’d imagine a number of organizations decide to save money and go this route.

‘That’s bc you have tens of millions of people doing it all at once... won’t have that when interagency meetings can be in person with cross company meetings remote.

Oh, the FDA has already authorized tests using saliva. The days of needing a swab stuck all the way up your nose to the very back ... those days will soon be gone. It's likely that they were never really necessary in the first place.
And temperature measurement is insufficient if half the people with the virus don't have a fever.

Currently, 16.6 million are out of work though and that seems to be increasing by 6 million+ each week.
Would be interested to know what this number would be if they weren't paying people close to $1,000 a week to file for unemployment

Temp measurements is to make people feel better.
Covid has 50% asymptomatic and Temp measurements can be defeated by taking Advil for minor cases.

Airlines don’t want to deal with the privacy and HIPPA issues that would come with testing at the gate. Now I could easily see every passenger having their temperature taken.
Once people have a reason to travel again they will.

How would it not if they were the ones required to do the tests?
Now if it’s the TSA before they can even enter the terminals it would default to them, but like I said, the TSA is terrible. You could swap TSA with Burger King workers and not skip a beat.

In just the space of three weeks, the United States has lost more jobs—over 17 million—than were lost in the entire Great Recession, an event that spanned roughly two years. That can only mean those same Americans who also hold a mortgage may now find themselves in the unthinkable position of being unable to make some or all of their monthly payments—perhaps for months, if not longer.
