A_bear the cops are not the problem. It’s definitely your GF and probably more so you.

They showed up in force because she called then and said you were communicating a threat by brandishing a firearm after a fight. You see it as stress relief; they see it as intimidation and a threat towards an unarmed woman.

You may have been gone but they don't know if you are going to come back to kill her and her family. shite like that happens all the time. What do you think the reaction would be if she called the cops because you had showed your gun and they did nothing and you killed her?

The fact that you say you still want to work things out means you are either a pussy, an idiot, or just as nuts as she is.

There were 8 because one cop against one guy with a gun is just stupid! Cops will always outnumber you especially in a domestic! Because if shite hit the fan she might turn on them as a lot of crazy women do in domestics. Why be outnumbered? As far as them intimidating you...well you started it by intimidating her and she called them first making her the victim and you the aggressor.

This is why you don't let your GF move in with you.

Like someone said earlier, we have no clue what the gf said to the police. But if there was a small chance that this could be a situation of an idiot bf who would rather shoot his gf than see her leave him, send as many cops as you want and you don't need to bring the guy cookies. He didn't get arrested so he's really just venting towards the wrong people.

Wait, what? You surely do not mean your "relationship" with your ex-gf, after all this cop bullshite & the entrapment, right?
Some folks just gotta learn the hard way, I guess.

You live in texas dude. Get involved there with the law and you will quickly see who is more stupid and ignorant.

A bear you need to REALLY MOVE ON! Think about...these people are so scared/ Intimidated of you they tell the cops you are potentially very dangerous and your gf doesn't stand up for you?
Take a step back and think about all the people you know that have had the cops called for domestic disputes. Usually there are some serious underlying problems. It also seems like you and gf aren't strong enough to end this dysfunction and it's taking Granny to step up, which is what she should do if she loves her granddaughter. Trust someone who's been where you are; there's a better woman for you out there. Good Luck!

I'd have asked gf and grandparents to leave at that point and told her I'd mail her shite to her.

Whoa, I've read this whole thread and I think we got the makings of a terrific country song here.

So far we got,
Guns
Pickup trucks
gf problems
Cops

Only thing missing, is whiskey.

Please take it from someone who has been there. There is nothing to work out. If you don't change the locks on your door and your cell number you are insane.

Expect grandma to convince your ex-GF to file a restraining order against you on Monday. Do not contact your ex-GF; let her reach out to you first and do not head over to the grandparents' house.

If the ex-GF got all her stuff out of the house, spend today changing the locks and do not confront any cops, for God's sake. If the ex-GF says she needs to come by and pick up some stuff, agree to it by all means and call the police and ask if they can be there to make sure things don't escalate.

It's over with her. Her family distrusts you and they have her ear. Move on.

You need to add this to the "dodged a bullet" thread. I read the linked thread to the original story. The girl is psycho, and you need to just bail out of that one. It's good that she moved back in with her grandparents. Keep it that way and move on yourself.

Chances are what's going to happen, is this girl is going to have a week or so to think about what she did and will miss you, feel guilt shame and remorse, want to tell you she's sorry, etc. She'll be blowing up your phone and texting you, wanting to work things out. Don't do it. Been there, done that. Call her bluff to end things and move on.

Sorry bro, but if she was just spending a night with the grandparents, she wouldn't have packed all her shite just for that. If you try and work this out you deserve the misery you are going to go through..

Add

Prison

Rain

Train

A dog shot by the police.

It would be the "new" perfect country western song.

This all sounds like a huge troll job by the OP.

Why would BRPD, EBRPSO, and Troopers all be on the same call?

Sounded civil (according to OP) so why wouldn't he have been cool with the grandparents there and helped her pack instead of storming off?

The inspection sticker comment ensures this is a troll job...8 cops are there worried about a potential crazy man with a gun aren't worried about inspection stickers.
