Correct, but good luck getting a bunch of people with no respect for authority to give the cops the benefit of a doubt.
They could have taken the high road and apologized. Maybe even be thankful they didn't kill him and try to do something to make up for it like support a fund raiser to help pay for the man's medical care. They're trying to charge him with assault now, does that sound like respect, and like it deserves respect?

Oh well that makes it ok then. No biggie

You are one weird m'fer. The vast majority of LEO are outstanding people, many of whom put their lives at stake for our protection.

You bootlickers expect people to respect some dumbass goons who would not identify themselves, shoot a guy in his own garage, and then have the gall to charge him for assault?
That's a bridge too far, buddy.

When officers arrived, police said they knocked on the door for about five minutes from a "well illuminated area.
“About five minutes” could range from four minutes to a minute and a half.
“Well illuminated area”? A porch light?

Cops are subhuman trash. And if what is said in that video is true then the DOJ needs to get involved and start putting department heads and their officers in prison for the rest of their lives

What a crock of absolute shite. They’re maniacal scumbags that spend 3/4 of the day hiding on the side of the road to hand out speeding tickets. Most are pathological liars and are failures in every aspect of their lives

The cop car with lights on in the driveway didn't give it away?

You obviously don't know any cops personally and your only interactions with them have been getting put in cuffs for whatever drug you were being arrested for

My former secretary and her boyfriend were sitting at home when the U.S. Marshals bust through the door, toss them to the floor and cuff them up. They were looking for a Mexican national with a warrant who was a prior tenant of their house (moved out a year earlier). When they figured out the guy no longer lived there, they let them go. But, there was no apology or explanation. They had to find out through our local Sheriff.
The lack of explanation or the common courtesy of an apology displayed an arrogance.

Defunding the police has consequences.
When they get more money they spend it on luxury police cruisers and equipment that never gets used. It doesn't go to higher salaries to attract better candidates, they keep hiring the same C and D students that peaked in High School.

They do this all the time when they are wrong. It's to give them a position to negotiate from. They basically try to get them to drop the suit or they will pursue charges. It's bullshite and is just a way for them to not have to hold their bad officers accountable.
The guy already said he will talk with an attorney, so at least they will be able to call bullshite on the trumped up charge.

This is why more and more people have no sympathy when they see "end of watch" for a cop.
It's actually because they're losers.

Let’s be clear about one mfering point, you have an absolute right to be armed in your home and in most states to defend yourself via stand your ground or the castle doctrine. Period.
For some fricking reason cops are being trained like military personnel and shot first ask questions later. This started about 20-25 years ago. They are also being taught or trained to use a “shock and awe” tactic on so many of this raids. Or no knock raids as they are perceived to be less dangerous to them.

Bad cops are less than 1% and must be dealt with accordingly. Dumbasses here almost killed an innocent person.
If a cop goes home and sleeps in his own bed that night for something you or I would be in a cell for they will get the "special" treatment. It's just not the treatment they want.
So until the 99% of "good cops" start enforcing the law of the land on the 1% you mention, they aren't necessarily "good" now are they.
If they would make a concerted effort to rid themselves of that 1% they would get a pass. But they don't; so the 1% grows and grows. Admittedly because the morons putting themselves in front of them also grows in number. But that isn't the case here.

Neither do you, apparently. LE is in the top 5 as far as drug use (narcotics, opioid, etc.) by profession.
Which makes perfect sense because that badge is an excellent cover.

Exactly.
As with any government agency, throwing money at the problem is futile. Might as well just light it on fire.
