When we lived in Germany, my dad used to tell me that if you got hit from behind on the autobahn in the left lane, you were automatically at fault.

Nope. And if the polizei ticket you for driving in the left lane, the ticket can be thousands of Euros.
It was glorious driving in Germany for almost four years. Then I came back to the US. What a fricking shite show by comparison.

Actually, this is the most appropriate time to use Germans comment as it’s a huge deal to be driving in the left lane and not passing on autobahn. Significant fines.
