I gave up on any kind of gimmicky lifetime sharpening service and bought a stone. I sharpen my own knives now with no wait
I’ve used Benchmades a ton.

I have a Tormek I use for sharpening everything. I had to finally start telling people that I didn't have time to sharpen their knives.

Why would you want anyone else to sharpen your knives? It is easy, there are a ton of ways to do it including the best (some stones and a little water) and you can do it exactly to your liking.

The best advice I will give anyone is to not wait until your knives "need sharpening". It is so much easier to just get in the habit of sharpening them regularly. I keep one of those cheap draw sharpeners in the drawer and use it just about every time I use a knife. I will strop them, too, sometimes that's all they need.
I rarely take one of my knives to the Tormek, and usually only when I've dinged the blade something blunted the edge badly enough.

I bought an extra set of bands from coarse to extra fine. However, sometimes I run a fairly sharp knife through on the medium belt and it sharpens it with perhaps a slight burr edge but it will still slice great. I’ll turn it around and run it once on the opposite side and smooth the burr.

Buy a good sharpener.

Who doesn’t sharpen their own knives? I’d rather do it myself than package them up,drive to UPS store to send them off.

$139 for a knife sharpener? I'm too poor

Coolina is Chinese garbage artisan crafted in sweatshops.
