quote:

Do you see anything wrong with this Walmart display?

A lot of people do. And they're calling it insensitive as best and racist at worst.

Some customers at a Walmart in North Las Vegas were outraged at a clothing display they say looks like people being hanged from the ceiling.

It may seems like a stretch to make the comparison—but is it really?

quote:

A local reporter went on the street to ask what people saw when they looked at the display.

"...A little like the Ku Klux Klan, black people hanging from the ceiling," said one woman.

Other said it looked like people being hanged, but some saw nothing.

Walmart has yet to respond to the situation, but the display has been taken down. Intent aside, it is clear that the display struck a chord with many who saw it.

Because black people are the only ones in the history of the world to be executed by hangings.

See! Again, a corporation that will bow down the second the race card is pulled. Can't possibly be called racist. If they get called that, bow down and give who ever called them that whatever they want

The fact that Walmart was unaware of how offensive blacks would be just shows how racist they really are. Its the worst kind of racism, which is ignorance. White people these days are just ignorant to how truly racist they are.

I hope Walmart hires a group of blacks to specialize in cultural sensitivity and diversity so that all decisions run through them for approval.

One of the displays looks like something Waldo wears.
Has Walden Books made a public comment regarding this insensitive issue?

A dumbass will always figure out how to be offended.

I dunno if it's racist or insensitive or any of that shite.

But it has to be the stupidest way to display clothes that I've seen. Unless it was a Halloween display.

What is a legit reason to display them like that?

I think someone did that on purpose.

Wow...they aren't mannequins. They aren't even full sets of clothes.

They are three shirts hung on top each other, like any display on the wall would be.

Is there a group of legless-3-torsoed people somewhere?

Looks creepy to me. If I saw that with no explanation I would have assumed it was some kind of Halloween display.
