They're not just the manufacturer, they have a ton of data on the cost stack. They even break it down by city/state and flag weather events.
But either way, margins erode or prices go up. The likelihood is that it's some combination of those. Which still means higher prices. Unless all the roofers in the country decide that they want to start running at 10% gross margin.

One of my good friends owns a roofing company and all of his employees are black men except one younger fresh out of HS white kid. He’s owned the business over 20 years. You don’t have to hire illegals

I can verify that ICE is active in Gonzales as I know a Honduran who was arrested and taken away. He’s been here illegally for like 20 years and his siblings are American.

I am just saying that it's not unusual to have a profit of $100+ per sq after all hard and soft costs. An average roof is 30 sq and a crew can knock that out in a day so $3K profit for a one-day job. Throw in the O&P allowance and that number grows.
Source: My crew did a roof on a HUD property this week for an insurance claim.

You know the ones I am referring to then. They are all the same group. The older ones died off or retired but their friends and family are still out there doing work. They all help each other out on larger jobs like parking lots.

Damn, wish we had them here. Even in JNU, most residential construction is done by illegals or those with visas. Fish processing has also been taken over.

I'm pro this.
As some one who used to be in construction they are terrible to work around they have zero etiquette and only concern themselves with their work and when you call them out they forget the English real quick.
They are dirty and give less then zero fricks about even the slightest safety precautions.

I saw an entire roofing crew jump off the 2nd story of a house they were working today. 3 of them injured badly, the rest ran off to the woods. Turns out it was just the dog catcher not ICE.
