I suggest going into an Air National Guard office and discussing your options. They can help pay for your last few semesters, get you in line with ROTC, and give you a taste of what it is like before you sign up for a 24/7 gig. You can also start out enlisted and that will make you a better officer.
I do not regret joining the military at all. You will learn valuable skills and about yourself. I know it made me a better person.

Officer school in the Navy. That's what I would do if I were you.

I would seriously consider going into the reserves. It will give you a taste without the full monty.
Then if you like it you can go active.
If you can't do air force, then marines or army. As I former navy man too much of your life passes while you are stuck at sea. Not a lot of fun there ;-).

You did it backwards. Most people join and let them pay for college.

Reserves is for suckers. Either go active or National Guard.

Stay out of Marines.

If you are not in a Service Academy, ROTC or some other similar program there is no guarantee you will be going to any OCS anytime soon. Just having a college degree does not an officer make and, with today's shitty economy and job out look joining the officer ranks has become quite competitive and usually has a wait list. I discussed this very thing with a buddy who's a career recruiter in the air force a few weeks ago. He said he's never seen officer and enlisted recruiting as selective as it is now.

This will depend on the branch. You can go Army National Guard in Louisiana as enlisted then do OCS. The state is hurting for officers. It is very easy to do. Then, you can go active Army as an officer. This part is a little harder, but not too hard.

If you are interested you can be a fireman in the AF.

Do it and go active duty.
Im now in a reserve unit after originally being in the irr.
It's my first drill and it's definitely different.
I wish I was back on irr status

I will join in with this advice, and FORGET about whether you are Officer or Enlisted, because that does not matter.
Your goal is to excel in every way possible. The best Enlisted personnel will always get a chance at Officer Candidate School, but, it takes at least a few years of outstanding Enlisted service to prove yourself.
The military is experiencing a period of severe drawdown in numbers of personnel, so, this is a tough environment for prospects like you.
But, I can't emphasize enough that, in today's US military, you can achieve your highest ambitions by signing up for initial entry as either Enlisted or Officer.
If you are the best at what you do, you will be recognized, whether you are Enlisted or Officer, so, your goal is to be the best.

If you have any questions about ROTC I can probably answer it...at least as far as Army goes.
Did it at Kentucky, commissioned, and now living at the glorious Fort Leonard Wood, MO.

What made you go Reserves instead of National Guard? What state are you in now?

I was in texas.
This is my first drill and I need to change it to where i do my drill in Louisiana since I just moved back from Texas to Louisiana.
It's way more lax than I thought.
With my school schedule soon to be 9-5 everyday over the next 2-3 years. I won't be able to commit to everything the reserve unit wants. I'm better off going back to irr

I am 26 and about 3-4 semesters away from graduating (worked as an EMT for 6 years). I am seriously considering the Air Force, Navy, or Marines. Any advice from people who went this route after school? Is there a way I can get started towards my goal before I graduate? (I saw the marines have a program to work towards your PLC/OCC while in school.)
What are you going to want to try and do in the military? Are you going to want and try to be an EMT or anything in healthcare? If so I would rule out the marines since their healthcare is mostly provided by the navy. I looked into the Navy, AF, and Army after grad school as a backup plan if I didn't get into med school. I got in though and I am still considering joining the navy when I finish.

Industrial tech, I would think that the army would have more that would utilize that, but that is just a spitball guess.

What school and will it be a degree you get? If so, go guard here and let your tuition be covered if it is a state funded school. Guard really won't mess up your school schedule unless there is a hurricane.
