Considering the Military after College

Who here has done this?
I am 26 and about 3-4 semesters away from graduating (worked as an EMT for 6 years). I am seriously considering the Air Force, Navy, or Marines. Any advice from people who went this route after school? Is there a way I can get started towards my goal before I graduate? (I saw the marines have a program to work towards your PLC/OCC while in school.)
Experience: EMT 6 years/ Fire Fighter 7 years Degree: Industrial Tech @ ULAla
Thanks

Don't join the Marines unless you are dead set on the Marines.
Air Force is your best bet. Good luck

Air Force is 1A (My GPA may hurt me here....currently at a 2.5)
Navy is 1B
Marines in 10.
I am considering it mostly because I have a few friends in the Marines and I would am interested in a combat oriented role.

Recruiters will wet their pants and answer all your questions.

Ill probably go speak to one soon, the offices in Lafayette are close to campus. I figured I can get some of the answers here without all the follow up phone calls!

I did it this way joined 3 days after college. I did go enlisted route which is what I personally wanted to do. My bonus maxed out and I came in as a specialist so there was that. I walked in told my recruiter I had taken the asvab with a score of 89 just graduated and wanted to go 19D he creamed his pants right then and there. I do not regret my decision it was a great experience in my eyes and I'd change nothing. I guess it does suck that my knee will not allow me to play softball anymore but hell the army gave me a free Purple Heart tag for that so who am I to bitch.

If there is an ROTC office on your campus, start there.

Pull the trigger.
When I close my eyes on this life, I will always regret not going the route you are considering when I graduated from LSU at 23.
Looking back, I blame myself for not dreaming big enough. I didn't know anyone in the service or have any immediate family that served.

Do not enlist!
Go find an Officer Selection Officer (at least that was what they were called way back when I was a young pup) for the Marines or Navy. If not interested in the military, join the Air Force*.
*low hanging fruit

You should have made better life choices.

My wife is active USN. Spent 7 years enlisted (corpsman) before getting her nursing degree and is now a Commander. Has 20 total in now, but will retire in DEC 2017 - has to do just over 2 more years to retire at this rank...and, since she went reserves in college (went back to active at commissioning) she has to do extra time because the two don't correlate until after retirement.
With your EMT experience, this may be a natural fit for you. USN all the way...it hasn't been bad to both of us. I have no complaints with my time, either.

Keep in mind that you shouldn't trust a recruiter at their word, they can be a great source of info but make sure you get anything they promise you in detailed writing.

No they won't. Especially with that GPA he has.
OP, you are highly unlikely to get into AF or Navy as an officer. You will most likely be advised to enlist and in 2-4 years you could try to become an officer from within, however right off the bat, with that degree and that GPA, you will be low man. Also, I think there is an age cutoff to enlist, so you'll most likely have to apply for officer school, which you wouldn't get into.

I'm 26 also and have been in the navy 7 years. Wouldn't trade it for the world. If you do join the navy, go fixed wing aviation so you will never be on a ship. If you go Air Force, have fun refueling aircraft

Or you could consider the Army and have the best options as far as career

It would be his best chance of becoming an officer with that GPA.

I can answer your ROTC questions and some general questions about recruiting.
