Buy a boat, get your Captain's license and take people offshore for $1500 per day to fish.

Work 3-4 days per week.

Relocating does not solve problems. Always remember that you go with you when you move. Is there something else bothering you in your life that you need to address?

I have not read every post here, but I will comment from my experience. I changed careers at 37. I make way more money in new career, but I do not find any more joy in the work. In fact, in my other career, I was doing what I loved to do, but made much less money, which in turn affected my happiness. I would say this, while you have no wife or kids, go seek out whatever you can, take a chance, make the move, because at some point you won't be able to do that.

Build a cabin in the woods, get a real country girl and live off the land.

Like others have said, get out of Baton Rouge. Get to a beach or an island somewhere in Florida, or the mountains in the Rocky's somewhere. Since you're young and single, it should be a bigger place, so you can meet women. Being a dad will be the greatest experience of your life.

Once you relocate, start your own business doing what you love. You can start almost anything online and be successful. Just figure out what you're good at, or love doing, and then figure out how to make money doing it.

I was a corporate recruiter making good money, but was traveling all the time. Once I had kids, I needed something where I could be home. I started a Christmas Light business to make a little money, then stumbled into landscape lighting. I would be talking to customers at Christmas time and they'd tell me about how expensive the quotes were that they'd recieved to put in exterior lighting. They would ask me if I could do it cheaper and I said of course. Didn't realize people were paying $10,000 to $25,000 for Lights in their yard. So word got out that I would do a good job for a lot less. Was making all kinds of money (cash).

Then people started asking if I could do other projects and I said of course. So I became a general contractor and all I do is find crews to do the work and make a nice markup. So anybody can really do anything, just find out what people need in your area and get it for them with a smile, at a good price.

BUT you haven't said what you like.

Do you prefer the out of doors? Do you garden? Do you go to concerts of small less known music?

Would you feel good working with wood or fabricating with metal?

Have you ever done something and at the end of it, said to yourself, damn, I DID THAT.

Have you taught an adult to read?

Have you fostered a pet?

Have you grown a tomato plant?

Stop sitting around worrying and go do something, anything, to get you out of your funk.

What kind of music do you like?

Move to an area like Nashville if it’s country music or wherever there’s a big music scene for your genre and get a job and join a band. Do both.

Well, I know I disappeared a time or two,
And along the way I lost me and you
I needed a new town for my new start
