People don’t travel from all over the world to see Mardi Gras in Mobile.

Meh, Iberville stopped to celebrate MG as he was coming into the mouth of the Mississippi in 1699.

Mobilians are the only people that care about this. It's sad and pathetic.

If I recall that is what was taught in 8th grade Louisiana history class. At the time Mobile was part of what would become the Louisiana purchase.

Well you recall wrong. The Louisiana purchase was west of the Mississippi (and New Orleans). It didn’t even include Baton Rouge much less Mobile. That was all “West Florida” from Pensacola to Baton Rouge

Using places people now know, Spain owned the entire I12 corridor and the i10 corridor from Mississippi through Florida from about the American Revolution to 1810 (until it eventually lost all of Florida)

It’s why EBR, Livingston, Tangi, E & W Feliciana, St Helena, St Tammany,, and Washington are called “Florida Parishes.” Those parishes were their own republic from 1810-1812 when they became part of the US.

Another Roll Tide win!

Seems to be common in Alabama about self proclaimed titles.... Auburn....

So, the Westbank (Marrero, Westwego, Avondale) more original than NOLA.
