Jefferson’s County Alabama, no one in line at the window, receive application, complete it, hand it back to clerk at the window, 5 mins after filling in the application questions and it’s in hand. Entire process, including paying and laminating the license is about 10-15 min max. And it’s only $7.50 a year or $37.50 for 5 years.

Only good thing about living here

My FIL has one in Alabama and I was surprised to discover how much easier it was there. It's more of a pain in the arse in Louisiana unfortunately.

I believe in Constitutional carry.

Took me like 9 months. Came to TD and bitched about it. LSP cop in charge of CCP apps called me the next day and chewed me out. She told me to take down my post. I told her I would if she did her job. Got my permit a couple of days later

Is the name on your permit “Hammertime”?

How’d she know who you are?

Or are you just full of shite?

I gave some specifics in the thread, and said that I had been calling repeatedly on such and such days. I left messages every time I called. It absolutely happened.

That was the second or third encounter with police I've had because of a TD post

Maybe you should consider what you post.

Good advice for all of us.

Yes. Lots of paperwork and can take the better part of a year after you take the course. But it should be that way. Not everyone needs to be walking around with a concealed weapon.

Nah, but I have learned that cops definitely read TD.

There was this homeless looking guy snooping around and knocking on doors in my old hood in BR. I posted about it after I got in a confrontation with him. BRPD cop showed up to my street within minutes (I was still outside), asked if I was Hammertime, laughed, and then went looking for the guy

fricking shite man. Initially, the whole process here cost between $300-$500 and you have to renew it every 4 years at $150 and take a renewal class.

fricking Louisiana. Everybody always has their hand out here.

This is why I don't have a CCP. I refuse to support a system that is and should be an illegal overstep of government power.
